I actually imagine this pit being a bit of a jerk, not usually intentionally but Virgil's emotional intelligence would fade in and out. The only one he stays attentive to would be his husband.

Side note, body modifications are all the rage nowadays, but I doubt tail docking would fly in an all-canine world. Ear cropping is very iffy, but the concept makes more sense if there is an age limit to prevent puppies from being ear cropped yet I can still see ear perking to be common among certain breeds at an early age.
