A view from the Dragon Nebula from a telescope satellite in orbit around a neighboring planet. No actual dragons have been discovered within the nebula, though it is home to many infant stars.
My final piece for the WFC 2009 Art Show —FINISHED JUST IN TIME!!! This one was inspired by those many wonderful space photographs of the Horse-head Nebula and the Cat's Eye Nebula… I thought, is it not too much to ask for a Dragon Nebula? ^..^
Oil paints and Galkyd glazes on 11"x14" canvas. Art © myself, some rights reserved. Enjoy! <3

Wow, this is great! The idea is one of its kind - or at least I haven't seen very many Nebula-dragons. ^_^ I especially like the stars and how you've added them into the dragon. :D Its eye and forehead look stunning with all the sparkle! And the planet in the foreground with the corona looks beautiful!
But one thing that disturbs me is the lack of contrast in the violet areas - they're quite dull. But nebulas' do have those dimmer areas and when considering that fact, the violet looks quite fine. ^^ Here's a beautiful photo of a nebula I found: http://objsam.files.wordpress.com/2.....cw49_04lrg.jpg with all the dim and bright areas.
Beautiful work overall!
