Naoko always wanted to be an actress, but due to family traditions she was trained as a Miko (shrine maiden) from youth. She initially opposed to this but over time chose to uphold family tradition, especially after her growth spurt made her think she would only be able to act in certain type of movie considering her newly gained assets.

She actually came to enjoy her role and the calm it brought her but little did she know her life would become a lot more exciting when she one day gained the ability to see demons after she was visited by a Kami who unlocked her shamanistic powers. Since then she has started hunting demons, becoming a sort of super hero with the help of her shamanic powers and a set of magical robes and weapons granted to her by the deity.

She also has the unlikely help of two Oni and a demon beast who oppose the demon invasion of the mortal world, though Naoko isn't sure as to their intentions she accepts their help for the time being while keeping a close eye on them should they have ulterior motives for themselves but thus far they seem to have kept their word about helping her.
