Back in high school, Buck Hopper was invited to an exclusive basketball summer camp in Boston. There he met Cheeto Wolfote, another young baller from the city's Southside. Both young athletes dazzled the camp, stunning the instructors with their incredible athleticism and leadership at point. Through the summer, B-Hop and Cheetopup competed viciously to prove themselves the best at the camp, going at each other with everything they had and playing in rim-rocking games that soon packed the camp's humble gymnasium. By summer's end, no one could say who was the best, and Hopper returned to California frustrated at having to share the top spot with the scruffy canine who pronounced his name funny.
Years later, Hopper was drafted by the Thrust and entered the FBA. Near the end of the same draft, the Plymouth Taproots quietly picked up Cheeto while the papers crowed about their first round pick. Later that season, the Thrust played a road game in Plymouth, and Hopper got a surprise in the second quarter when a familiar face came off the bench...
"I'm back, B-Hahp."

A simply WONDERFUL drawing from the endlessly talented
spunky! This picture was commissioned by the wonderful
lilifox whose
babsbunny character is immortalized in the FBA logo. She's also the creator of the fantastic
cheeto character, who is still B-Hop's biggest rival-- and his best friend.

Heh...naw. They're going to go at each other just like high school, shattering each other's ankles, dunking on each other's heads, really cutting each other up and making them look silly-- but after the game, it's going to be big hugs and hooking up. They're the best of friends.
Heh!! Love the line-- and I'm sure Cheeto would say it on the court. B-Hop would say his own unmentionables. But there wouldn't be a fight.
I'm sure at some point in the game they got in each other's face and stared down-- but after the buzzer went off, it was big hugs and planning on meeting later to catch up. They're best friends.

I feel very lucky!
lilifox is just wonderful and delighted me by commissioning this terrific picture.
B-Hop and Cheeto make a perfect pair. I've got some great ideas for what will happen at the first Thrust/Taproots game-- looking forward to describing it in a future podcast!
