Azathoth - clothed
An alternate view of Azathoth. Rather than a Cosmic Horror, he is a Cosmic Being, the Soul of the Universe. This is what he appears wearing, at times, when in an Avatar. Why? Because he can.
He goes by many names, Azathoth being that which he is commonly known as on Earth. His true name is a feeling, an emotion, of sorts, a warm motherly sensation one feels in their heart. Something so complex that simple words can not convey it.
Among his true titles are
The Mother and Father of All
Progenitor of the Great Old Ones
The Soul of the Universe
He from who All Things Come, and to who All Things Return
The Phoenix
The Reborn One
The Primal One
Needless to say, he is not at all fond of the "Blind Idiot God" title.
His true form is vast beyond all measure, a great Fractal like being, endlessly complex. This is simply how he appears when he creates an avatar and inhabits it.
Azathoth was greatly feared because of his vastness and his power... and how alien he truly is.
The idea that his Dream is the Universe is not entirely wrong - but he does not sleep. He watches and hopes, and wishes that he could be among that which he holds in his heart.
He is capable of speech, but he finds it very difficult. It is a very simple form of communication that is very hard to make one's meaning known. Words... are limited, really, and many concepts are lost.
His preferred mode of communication is something like Kything - or, simply, being. To see through eachother's eyes, a special type of communication where size... distance... even time, to a point, ceases to matter. Where you can dance with galaxies, spinning and laughing in the vastness of Space, see the Universe as a whole, watching it expand gently... or be so tiny that you can commune with creatures so small they can not be seen or perceived, even with a microscope. Humans are not capable of such communication, but they can, to a point, be reached through dreams, given visions, warnings... even messages.
When two Kythe together, they become as one, able to communicate without a single word.
