This is the original concept for the Mystic Isles from wayyyy back in 2002, the starting point for much of "Solomon's Law". The central Island is home to "Oak Village", which is now more a city than a village after more than a thousand years have passed since the "Fall of the Hammer".

The tree's massive root system keeps the rest of the islands from drifting apart from one another.

Currently, the idea is that these islands are largely unexplored by outsiders due to a massive maelstrom that surrounds the islands, forming a strong barrier against exploration.


There is only one outside force that knows much of anything about the Islands, and that's "Realm". Who they are, what they are, what they do is a mystery.

These islands are held aloft by an ancient, powerful magic...or are they?

INteresting Note: The lake on the bottom left-most island is actually Lake Murray in the state of Oklahoma. It is, by far, my favorite lake that I've ever visited, and so I paid homage in making it one of the lakes in my story.
