This is old art! Original post date was Dec 2, 2013
Proper backgrounds? Shading? I don't even know them! Also Sparx is a dragon because of an old fic I did where Spyro turned him into one, and there's not much more to say. He likes Cynder though, and she kinda likes him back. But don't worry, he's still the same ol' Sparx. OH INSPIRATION HAS HIT ME. STORY TIME.

The sound of soft footsteps in the grass reached Cynder's ears. To most, the noise wouldn't have been noticed. But she had been taught to have complete awareness of her surroundings at all time, and those teachings were still with her now, years after being freed from servitude.
But she didn't turn around, knowing who it was that was walking toward her. That light, fluttery step couldn't be anyone else.
"'Ey, Cynder," a muffled voice said, right next to her. "Gt it."
She smiled and glanced over. Standing there was her consort, his stance triumphant and just a little bit cocky. A dead snake dangled from his jaws, blood dripping from it. For a moment, Sparx's expression was one of disgust, but he quickly changed it to a grin and raised an eyebrow at the other, waiting for her opinion of his performance.
She examined the snake. It appeared to have been squeezed to death. Sparx's teeth were locked around its middle, which was bleeding, and he sported a pair of fang marks on his snout. Apparently the snake had gotten time to fight back before he crushed the life out of it. Still, he did manage to catch something, and that was good. It proved that he could obtain food if necessary. She gave a small nod of approval, prompting him to do the next part of the courtship. He flung the snake into the air.
Cynder watched it twirl limply up and then arc downward, and she looked away as if she was going to ignore it. Her eyes met Sparx, and he looked at her anxiously, smile starting to fade. Then at the last moment, she turned and snapped the snake out of the air, swallowing it whole. The taste wasn't particularly pleasant, and she shuddered slightly at the texture, but her answer was clear. She had accepted yet another stage of the courtship ritual.
Sparx looked totally pleased with himself. "I knew you'd like it. Want me to get you another?"
She shook her head, leaning over to start grooming the blood off of his snout. "No... that was fine. Didn't think you'd be able to kill something like that, though."
"Oh, it was no problem. I could totally kill like... a hundred more. I was going to bring you something else like a lizard, but then I thought... no. NO. Go big or go home. So I chose the snake."
"Heh." She nipped at him before briefly resting her head against him. "It's perfect."

so yeah that was a thing. Enjoy!
