Well, it was cut off, so here's part two from a little before it was cut off. Enjoy!
Thronezwei: "I'm ready for ya! Just give me a second..."
Concentrating on the four-legged form, my hands and fingers turn into my front paws as my body alters itself into the feral form so I can do what Conor had been doing.
Omni: I toss the ball in the air and send it flying again, this time as a ground bouncer. Lets see how he reacts.
Thronezwei: Taking a page out of my cat's playbook, as soon as the ball reaches where I am, I hit it back as hard as I can with one of my front paws. Wasn't exactly the most canine thing to do, but then again, there were no real rules as to how a werewolf was to play fetch!
"This sure is fun!"
Omni: "Of coursh is ish." I reply, the ball in my mouth. I quickly let it loose again, this time in the air above him.
Thronezwei: "How'd you do that throw with the magic earlier? Also, any more lessons before the final full moon tonight?"
This particluar toss I miss, but I quickly pick it up in my mouth and toss it back as best I can. That was the one thing I missed about not being on two legs in this form. I had to rely on my jaws more than I did my limbs. And I didn't want to try magic until I had a better grasp on the basics.
Omni: "Pretty much, I just concentrated on what I wanted the ball to do and then I sent it flying after focusing my magic on it. I suppose you could say it's sort of like telekinesis, at least in this particular case." I stop the ball with my paw on top of it, then toss it back to him. "Why don't you try it? This is as good a time as any to learn some basics, at least until the moon rises."
Thronezwei: "All righty then...well, here goes!"
As I catch the ball and start to throw it back, I concentrate on it, using the method that he'd just described. Though there didn't seem to be any visable aura or shadow around the ball, I could still feel something as I sent it back at Conor. I didn't use a ton of force as I didn't want to risk causing any damage to my house, or injury to Conor. It seemed easy enough, but I guessed that there was much more to it than first met the eye.
Omni: "Good, very good. That was definately very good for a first try. Now, how about we try something a little more complex." I levitate the ball and have it move around Darius in various patterns and movements, not once touching the ground. "Now you try it."
Thronezwei: I watched closely as the ball moved in ways that normal physics would dictates as impossible. To anyone else watching, it would seem that the ball was either possessed, or on a very thin wire that was impossible to see. But I could tell that it was Conor who was moving it using his own abilities. It was more complex, obviously, but at the same time, it looked managable if I concentrated enough.
"Hmmm...let's see here..."
Focusing on the ball again, I try to replicate the pattern I'd just seen, or at least one close enough to it as I send it back to him. It wobbles a bit more in mid-air than when he'd sent it my way, but it doesn't touch the ground as it moves closer to where he's sitting. If I could've smiled, I would've. It wasn't easy, but that's why I was asking someone who knew how to use these abilities better than I did.
Omni: "Good, good. You're getting the hang of it. You'll just need to practice a little bit more and you should be able to manipulate it however you want. I'm sure your cat would love you doing that with a ball of yarn." I wink mischievously at him. We play around a little more with the ball and Darius is soon a master of movement. "Ok, now I think it's time we tested your strongest point in magic. Let's shift back to anthro. You can do this on all fours, but personally I think it's easier to try it on two legs rather than four the first time." I go and fill up a glass of water and then I lay in on top of the table. "Now then, watch carefully." I raise my hands and the water moves at my whim, rising from the cup and into midair. "I always have fun when i do this. Manipulating water is so relaxing, not to mention fun." I let it drop back into the glass without spilling a drop. "Now you try. Since water seems to be your forte, this should be pretty easy to handle."
Thronezwei: I nod and shift back into the anthro form, flexing my fingers a bit, if only to remind myself that I can grasp objects with them now. As Conor manipulates the water in the glass, I watch intently. It was even more amazing to see something that had no real shape rise up into the air, all without a drop touching the table. If both of my feet hadn't been planted securely on the ground, I almost would've sworn I was in zero gravity. Once he finishes, I nod.
"This has a lot of potential uses...and fun, too. Anyhow, here goes!"
I raise my left hand with my palm facing the air, though not extended too far out from my body and focus on the water, imagining it forming into a spherical shape. The water cooperates with my request and the sphere made of water I'd imagined is soon floating a few inches above the glass before I move it around a bit before placing it back into the glass. Water indeed seemed to be my strong point, but that had only been a glass's worth of it. But there was no reason to try and do the same with a larger body of water just yet.
Omni: "Very good, very good. Now you should know that you don't actually have to use motions to make things move. All that is required is concentration, and sometimes, even that isn't necessary. However, it's always good to keep up a charade, just in case somthing should happen. That way, you still have the element of surprise."
Thronezwei: "A charade, like what in this case? But I get what you mean about not needing motions. It just felt like something I should do so I could see what I was doing, but with enough practice, I'll likely not need to do that anymore. But this is pretty useful stuff!"
Omni: "Useful, and fun." I wink at him. "Now then, how about we move on to air? All you have to do is call up a gust of wind, or a breeze. That might be better, considering how we don't want any mishaps in the house. Try blowing a pice of paper, or soething else that is light."
Thronezwei: "Well, I guess the front section of the newspaper will do for this. One breeze, coming right up, hopefully!"
Concentrating, I think of a light, pleasant breeze. Not enough to scatter everything on the table all over the room, but enough to move a piece of paper. Unlike with the water, I have a tougher time, not by much, but noticable enough. But soon enough, I can feel a breeze in the room where none had been before blowing the section of the newspaper over to where Conor is standing.
Omni: "Wonderful. Naturally, wind is very close to water, so it's simple to control for you. The next two elements will be harder. We will move on to earth." I go outside and pick up a good sized rock, then bring it back in. "Now try to manipulate this. You can break it apart, or just move it around, or whatever suits your fancy. Just be careful. Earth is a very powerful element, and one of the more dangerous if you don't control it properly. Misuse of it could set off events beyond your control."
Thronezwei: "Like earthquakes and sinkholes, I'm guessing? I can understand that earth and presumably fire are dangerous to handle, even with magic...well, here goes..."
I decided to try breaking it in two, as it seemed a simple enough command. Once again focusing on the rock in front of me, I imagine a small crack growing large enough to split it in half. There was more resistance than with water or wind, and I had to concentrate a little harder, but eventually I'm rewarded with the sight of a small crack in the rock growing slightly wider. Eventually, it splits in two, the effect I had on it dissipating.
Omni: ]"Good, very good. You will have to experiment with your new abilities, but I warn you, be careful in how far you go. Now for the last element; fire. Like you guessed, fire can be just as dangerous as earth. Even moreso because it spreads so quickly. You will have to concentrate very hard on control with this one. Otherwise it can get out of hand very quickly."
Thronezwei: "Not to mention the fact that fire makes me nervous. Not a phobia per se, but I'm not exactly comfortable around it. What will we use for this test, and for the earth magic, how will I know when to stop, or what's too far?"
Omni: "For the fire thing, let put some paper in the fire place. That way, we will be able to contain it should it get out of hand. As for how far you can go, that is really up to you to find out. Usually you are able to tell by instinct when you are going too far. If things should get out of hand, then you will have to call to me. I'll come as quickly as I can.”
Thronezwei: "Gotcha. Fortunately, it's getting cold around here, so a fire going in the fireplace won't seem too out of place!"
I gathered up some newspaper and put it in the fireplace in the living room. I usually kept the blinds up there, so there wasn't much worry about being spotted. Using fire made me a little nervous, but I needed to calm down. It wouldn't be much different from using the stove. Concentrating, I imagine a spark. Something that would cause the newspaper to light on fire, but not turn into a raging inferno. Out of all of the elements, I meet the most resistance, presumably due to water being opposed to fire. But with enough effort, the scent of buring paper wafts into my canine nose. Even though I can't really sweat, I wipe my brow in relief.
Omni: "Good. You did it. Remember now. Only use earth and fire when all else fails. You can experiment for the sake of practice, but aside from that, you really should only use these abilities when it is truly necessary. I have just one more thing to teach you I think. Storm manipulation. You can make it rain, snow, hail, thunder and lightning, all sorts of things. But weather magic is very difficult to control, and you must be careful not to undo the balance of nature. Otherwise, you might send this earth into another ice age. Not a fun idea."
Thronezwei: "Not at all...considering I'm not a huge fan of winter, a long-lasting one like that's not a fun idea in the slightest. But am I correct in guessing that I have a tougher time with Earth and Fire because I'm good with Wind and Water? Also, how are we going to use this weather magic without anyone noticing something's up? It's a pleasant day outside."
Omni: "Well, first off, I'm not really sure. Earth likes to not change save for when it's forced to do so like in earth quakes, so that might explain the resistance you got. As for flame, it is a wild thing, impossible to tame. So naturally, it wouldn't want to be controled. As for water, it is fluid and changing, like you. It adapts to suit its environment. Wind is capable of moving at very high speeds and is a very powerful element, despite what others may think of it. I agree with you though. Water and air come naturally because they are so closely related. As for how to work weather magic, just bring the storm here. You can control water and air, remember? Just focus on having the water vapor in the air form into storm clouds. Then have the clouds let out their load. It's a little different from causing chagnes in storm fronts and safer too."
Thronezwei: "I suppose it makes sense, but you'd know more about this than I would. But let's see if I can create a slight rain storm...I'm glad you're here in case I mess this up. Speaking of, how would I communicate with you should something go wrong and you're, well, somewhere else? E-mail and PM are a bit slow..."
Taking a deep breath, I concentrate once more. I remember my school lessons on how clouds are formed in nature and call upon both air and water to form a few small clouds. Though I can't actually see anything, I can tell that a few clouds are forming nearby, creating a brief and light drizzle of rain. I soon ask them to disperse, lest someone get too suspicious about this.
Omni: "Nicely done! As for how to contact me, Since I'm your alpha, you should be able to call to me if you're in trouble and I should hear you. However, since I'm not 100% certain on that, here." I wave my hands and a small silver ring appears in my palm. "It's not as powerful as my arm, but it should be able to let you contact me wherever I am if you should get into trouble."
Thronezwei: "Thank you. It looks like a nice ring. Pretty low-key, which is a good thing. But without the ring, what would the method of contact be? And it looks like it's getting later in the day. Let me feed the cat, and then should we get going?"
I take the ring and put it on. It's fairly unassuming in appearance, but even I can tell that there's a lot more to it than first appears. More than that, I start to feel a little restless. I wonder if the wolf in me wants to transform under the moonlight one last time before the next cycle begins. To give it that, I shift back to human in preparation for going outside.
Omni: "That ring should stay with you at all times, even if you take it off. It'll just find its way onto you again. As for normal contact, just go with the usual. We talk on the FA. And yeah, we can get going whenever you're ready. Though I think I'd like to say goodbye to your cat. I'm going to have to leave after tonight. I have church and school that I need to attend."
Thronezwei: "I'm sure he'll be sorry to see you go, as I'm pretty sure he's taken a liking to you. Not really sure how cats deal with that sort of thing, but I'm sure he'll remember you for some time. But I understand that there are other things that you need to attend to, as do I once this night is over."
I quickly go and make sure the cat's fed before petting him for a minute or two. I'd set aside some books for the hike out to the clearing in case there was nothing else to do, or just to indulge my human side.
Omni: "You ready?" I ask as I move and pet Darius' cute little cat one more time before I leave.
Thronezwei: "Yup! That I am. So, what's left to do on the final full moon of the month?"
We both exit my house and head for the clearing. More and more I find myself marveling at the night sky. The sky in the day looked nice, sure, but you couldn't see the stars, or on rare occasions, comets. Once we reached it, I idly wondered if being a werewolf meant I'd live a lot longer than normal. Even if not, I still felt honored to have become one.
Omni: I notice Darius as he oggles the night sky. "Yeah. I've always thought of it as a little miracle, or perhaps a big one, to see the sky at night like this. I always marvel at how beautiful it looks, especially when you're out in nature. You could say that it's sort of like nature's temple."
Thronezwei: "It reminds me that there's a whole lot out there that we've yet to see. Given that I've watched a lot of sci-fi shows and films, I gotta wonder what's out there. But for now, I'm more anticipating the moonrise."
I smiled widely. A few days ago, I couldn't have imagined this coming true, and yet, here I stood. A real werewolf awating the full moon's rise and the inevitable change.
"I gotta ask though. Are there any potential side effects to shifting during the day or more often than just on the full moon nights?"
Omni: "Well, for one, you'll have increased senses. Not as strong as in wolf form obviously, but still stronger than an average human's. Of course, there's the usual increased metabolism and though I'm not sure on this one, I think you'll be able to heal very quickly as well." I stiffen a bit as the tingly feeling hits me. Guess it's time for the main event.
Thronezwei: "I'm not going to go out of my way to test that last one for obvious reasons. Would raise too many questions. Ah...time for the moon to work its magic. I'll miss it until next time..."
I smile as my nose starts to become black leathery and wet while my fingernails become claws. Russet brown and white fur begins to sprout all over my body as the change initiates itself. I look over and see the black fur begin to grow on Conor as he starts to transform as well. Kicking off my shoes, I stare at the moon and smile. I still had no regrets for my decision.
Omni: *Yup, that boy was a born werewolf.* I look at the moon as my feet switch to digitrade and the padding grows. I grin an increasingly toothy grin as the moon's full light shines down on me. It feels good.
Thronezwei: Pads form on my hands as my ears become pointed and move to the top of my head, growing to become the ears of a wolf. The now familiar pressure in my head is felt as it pushes out into a muzzle, my teeth altering themselves to become sharper, more predatory as my toungue lengthens and my eyes become sharper.
*This feeling will never get old...I'm sure of it.*
Omni: I pant in ecstasy as my muzzle finishes growing out. My tail shooting out my pants, wagging a mile a minute. I close my eyes as my senses finish their changes. *mmmmmm, this never gets old*
Thronezwei: I can feel my tail form and emerge into the night, wagging in excitement as my legs alter themselves to a digitrade stance, my toenails changing themselves into claws as the fur finishes covering them and the pads grow in. Finally, my senses also become far sharper than they were before the change. And then, the change ends and I stand there, a full-blown werewolf. I laugh happily before turning it into a howl, one that said "This is what I am now, and I am proud to be a werewolf!"
Omni: I happily join Darius in song before the time comes. The moon reaches its zenith and I figure I might as well make a flashy exit. "It's time Darius. It was a lot of fun, but I need to make my way home." As I speak, I call up my magic. A pure white aura surrounds me, as beautiful as the moon, no even more pure than that. My body rises off the ground in the moon’s rays. "If there is anything else you'd like to say before I go Darius, now would be the time."
Thronezwei: "Just make sure you come back and visit sometime, okay? I'll make sure to keep practicing with all that you've taught me! But finally....thank you. Thank you for granting that wish of mine. I used to think it was silly, even stupid of me to devote my time for trying to become a werewolf...but now that I have, I can see that that time was not wasted at all!"
I smile as he begins to make his exit. Somehow, I had a feeling that it would be a showy one. It just seemed to be his style. Someday I hoped to either form a pack of my own or add to this one, but for now, I didn't mind being the only wolf in town.
"Safe travels, my friend!"
Omni: "Thank you Darius. Goodbye!" With that, I channel my energy into my arm and call out one word. "Ondata!" A bright flash of light later, I'm gone. I hope Darius adjusts well. All of this is alot to take in in just three days.
Thronezwei: I'd need to look up that word later, but at the moment, looking it up could wait. The night was still young, and I had plenty of energy and a lot of forest to explore. As I headed south, I couldn't help but smile. Though I had a lot of new things to get used to, I would make sure to do so. It was the least I could do to pay back the debt I felt I owed Conor for granting my wish. I didn't know what the future held for me and my inner wolf, but I was certain that we could take on whatever happened. Glancing up at the moon again, I howl once more.
Thronezwei: "I'm ready for ya! Just give me a second..."
Concentrating on the four-legged form, my hands and fingers turn into my front paws as my body alters itself into the feral form so I can do what Conor had been doing.
