I somehow knew that, back when I gave you the description for how the "overly proud mother" was treating her daughter, you'd... well, be the right artist for more of her story.
For those curious:
Kaari's mother is a narcissist, having drawn so much of the attention from her wife when she was with them, and now from her prized daughter. Prized, in the sense that Kaari's more of a possession to her than a daughter. Entertainment was carefully controlled, encouraging a proper life where Kaari would be influential (just enough) and able (but not too able) to make her mother's life better and never too far from mother's designs. The Adventuring Guild was a good option, and would easily attract most any young Dreamspinner. There are plenty of more subtle support options available, not just exploration like Krinele and Molly.
Ah, but the stories and reports that the explorer adventurers send back, that get published, and entertain Dreamspinners everywhere... those are the deeds that burn in a young would-be adventurer's heart. Kaari was no different, and not wanting to be a disappointment she studied very hard in class and applied herself to the practical. She'd end up a proper adventurer in no time, then out risking her life in some unknown dream, possibly never to return home! Mother needed something to distract her just enough with, something that doing on her own would be entirely outside her budget, and fun enough that she'd want to continue even though it was obviously indebting Kaari to her.
Grav-speeders seemed a good option. They're terribly expensive, and notoriously short-ranged for any reasonably-priced model. The cadets would often race them, and getting Kaari hooked on those thrills would let her keep her daughter close. It backfired horribly, and Kaari was selected for the honor of official grav-speeder training through her inclination to it.
That skill has brought her here, where she's expected to tag various Ruins, sources of positive dream energy, as the dream that Glue is in approaches 85 years of age. While the Ruins will transition to a different dream upon collapse, these beacons will let the Adventuring Guild determine *what* dream they find their way to. Glue's focus on the "primary Ruin" (seen here) means someone else has to plant those beacons. Enter Kaari, with a Guild-provided long-range grav-speeder. Pop-out tent included, micro-handwavium reactor, enclosed pilot compartment, and several systems Kaari's not entirely sure the purpose of.
Adoration of her own ride has gone out the window as she's seeing a Midsummer class VTOL, with attached living module, the same kind that Krinele and Molly use. For her part, Gluneria is bemused - after all to her the Fluff Empress is simply "home".
