Suffering badly in the wake of Cleave Fever's death, Jimmy's lost all sense of purpose.
poetigress 's Thursday Prompt for October 22nd. Normally, I don't like using the word in the title itself, but it seemed to be the best fit. Privately, I'm a little woried that this story's going to come across as way too emo, though I really tried. I also deliberately left out what Levon's doing out this late...

Most readers are simply along for the ride, so they have no idea just how involved an author gets, in the creative process, when it comes to writing a story. That gives them a different, sometimes very nescesary perspective. Fellow writers, like myself, can straddle the line, seeing the creation that went into it, while enjoying the end result. That's why I'm so keen on giving you the best possible constructive critisim.
A genuine critic, on the other hand, deliberately doesn't give a twisted fig tree about the creative process at all, and doesn't care how much of the artist's soul went into the piece. They are like Statler and Waldorf, from the Muppet Show, ruling from on high, in their private box. They don't ask to be entertained, they demand it. And they tend to get very snotty if their every expectation isn't catered to.
