The sight of Veluren's gaping maw, much like the dragon's personality is a two-sided coin depending on who sees it.
To the wicked - those who would hurt, murder, rape, and dye their souls in darkness - the glowing abyss will be the last sight of the living world they'll ever see, consumed body and soul to add to the dragon's power while he determines if they have enough light left in them to be worth keeping in his body to try to help them repent. If not, it's a simple matter to drain every drop of mana from their soul, forcing them to immediately pass on to the next life, and to their judgement.
To his friends however, Veluren's glowing innards are a sanctuary, a place to rest and relax. For a night or for a week, he can make the glow less intense to soothe them instead of sear their eyes and his belly can be made inactive, or they can be welcomed into his paradise with a flood of the dark sapphire blue liquid that fills his digestive tract, painlessly added to their predator for a vacation until he recycles the same energies they gave him to return them to the living world.
It seems however that his attention is drawn to you and he's showing off the light of his mana-fueled maw and throat. The question is, are you friend, or foe? He certainly doesn't seem averse to the idea of swallowing first, finding out the answer later. A Reaper he may be, but a Dragon still needs to eat.
I have. Needed. A Mawshot of Vel. FOR SO LONG. Given how it's been almost half a year since I updated his character design, I've only just gotten the stable job and the money to start consistently buying art, and in the coming days/weeks Vel's going to get a lot of love.
A Mawshot was of course first up, you can hardly be a primarily-predator voreaphile without giving your meals a good image of what awaits them. With Vel's insides now also glowing a bright light blue (with darker blue saliva) I especially needed to get to a position where I could show it off to all involved.
