I like theorizing and creating things, so this came as a result of thinking up how the cast of http://joey-drew-studios.tumblr.com could be receiving asks while being stuck in the studio (if you see this, don’t feel obligated to take it into consideration)

So, when a presumably-popular animation studio shuts down under shady circumstances, it tends to attract journalists (and paranormal investigators). These people likely got in over their heads and were consumed by the ink, leaving behind their tools and inquisitive spirit. This could potentially create a harmless variant of Searchers

I’d like to think the crew would mix ‘em up with normal Searchers ‘til quite a while after they settled into place within the studio, later noticing that they don’t attempt to get up close and will just play questions or statements from the tape recorders embedded in them. While receiving an answer or general response, they take one or more photos, then dissolve at the end of the interaction (together with the tech that’s part of ‘em). Everyone’s just used to occasionally having some appear and hover around now, generally speaking to them as they would to another person
