[[NOT MY ART]]To Battle, with No Regrets!
The mission would be dangerous for the both of them. Danathius was hired to escort an artifact of significant power, but two problems plagued him: the first was that an anti-teleportation field surrounded the country that contained his destination; the second was that a war had broken out that country. The mage had done some preliminary research, using various scrying and detection spells to determine that the enemies of those who had hired him would be waiting for his arrival, so travel on foot was out of the question. But how would he safely get to where he needed to go if he couldn't use any form of teleportation spells? Long and hard did Danathius ponder...
Enter Malfaren. A regal and mighty dragon, noble enough to help out one in need! A reward of some kind could definitely sweeten the deal, though! With a bargain between mage and dragon made, Malfaren donned his battle armor, and the two set off as soon as possible. Along the way, though, they seemed to have been noticed by the enemy... Using a spell to anchor his boots to the dragon's back, Danathius went on the defensive to protect Malfaren and himself from enemy attacks while the dragon devastated their opponents with brute strength and dragonfire. They never stood a chance against the powerful duo.

Fun fact: the title of this submission comes from my favorite voice track in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows Over Amn; I've always imagined that voice set similar to how Danathius would sound and act in battle. He's a cheerful fellow, and he always tries his damndest to be a source of inspiration for friends and battle companions.
