A siren sits on a solitary rock, her tail flipping with gossamer black. The same material shrouds her shoulders and flutters around the roundness of her breasts. Stars speckle across her form, seemingly fused with her flesh, and crystalline blue eyes flick over an ocean that only plays at mimicking the same color. A ship draws near, and she begins to sing. She sings of wishes, things the sailors want in their secret hearts. The sailors look amongst each-other, wondering who the wishes belong to.

A youth, all scrawny limbs and knobbly knees, stares out towards the siren with wide and listless eyes.
The captain claps a rough hand onto his shoulder, looking in the same direction with a grim expression. "The star has wished upon you, Lad."
"What?" The youth's voice is high and stringy, cracking with a shaking and desperate wonder.
"Let's take her away, men! All hands on deck before the boy decides to jump ship!"
The men scurry about, snapping to the words of the captain without question.
