Perhaps thats what poochyena's are half based off? XD (well hyena's have the same sorta dark face). Silver foxes are a real thing :P

I know they are, I saw them in a documentary, they are what happened when people picked the 'nicer' traits from wild foxes, like more gentle and domesticated them. Due to in nature 'nice' animals dont survive for lone, their surpressed traits started to appear upon several generations of forcing those with those things that the humans liked, their tails started to curl and the highly dark furred foxes began to gain white tipped tails that also curled slightly .. :p spike knows.

Well actually silver foxes actually Accor naturally in the wild, although of course being a smaller percentage in the red population as they are a natural mutation, and bred commonly for the fur industry. The foxes you speak of from the Russian experiment had much more dramatic marking changes, and were closer described as the marble, platinum and silver domesticated breeds ect ect. Was a incredible experiment of course, as it explained how domestication of breeds of animals can dramatically effect the colour makeup and body shape due to the dumbing down of adrenaline needs ect.
