So, with tumblr imploding on itself, I felt it appropriate to whip this up.
I'm someone who earned a rather quick and sudden following on tumblr, garnering close to 1,110 Watchers on a blog that was less than 8 months old. And when a lot of my stuff ended up getting flagged because of this new rule change, I deleted them and have opted to play ball, still posting belly kink and vore related content, just being careful about what I post and what I don't post.
But let's be frank here. This whole thing is complete bullshit. There's no beating around the bush. It's bullshit not because tumblr wants to be "inclusive and safe." It's bullshit because tumblr already was, lest we forget, there was a lil thing called "Safe Mode," where if people didn't wanna see NSFW or semi-adult content, they could turn it off. Sure, some things slip between the cracks, but name me a single website where things DON'T slip between the cracks.
This is just yet another example of a MAJOR website bending over backwards (LEWD!!!) for their advertisers. In this case, it's because tumblr was bought out and Verizon is very ad-friendly. And like YouTube, tumblr decided to half-ass their solution by just leaving the judgement of what was and wasn't adult content in the hands of AI algorithms, which have no sense of context towards anything. In fact, I was SHOCKED that this comic wasn't flagged on tumblr, because pretty much anything I had with shirtless characters was flagged...even the ones not directly connected to vore or kink related content. I think tumblr's AI is just dead set on banning nipples. 'XD
Anyway, just thought I'd vent my frustration at the situation. I'm gonna be fine, but my frustration stems more from larger blogs that WON'T be, simply because pretty much everything of theirs ends up flagged, and I feel for 'em.
Therefore, I propose we all hereby refer to tumblr as 'bumblr' from this point on. Because let's face it, this is a big, pointless blunder.

Pfft xD
And yeah that AI thing is just garbage of the lamest sort. I had some screenshots from MH Stories flagged as inappropriate. One of them was just the stats screen of my Seregios. It's one thing to be all up in arms about "certain topics" but a totally 'nother to leave those topics in the hands of a bot that's about as accurate as some "Hello World!" level project being tasked to do it. Laughably horrible :B

And yeaaaah, I'd double check your blog actually. The ban doesn't kick in until two days from now, but I know several artists who had basic reference images flagged. It would help to sort through your posts and reblogs to double check and see what's flagged and what isn't. Because I'm unsure if having too much flagged content is what gets pages terminated or not.

I don’t even think I fully understand the implications of this shitty policy...and by this point, I’m so fed up with this hellhole of a website that I don’t give a single fuck. It wouldn’t even be a huge loss, at least for me. It REALLY sucks for artists who use this as their primary platform, though.
For real. I'm mainly abiding by it since I have 1,100 watchers and don't wanna just give on that and have to start from scratch. It's just irksome that such a shitty policy was put into place for the shittiest of reasons, and that it's being paraded as a NOBLE thing. -____-;
(I freakin' HATE how ad-centric the web has become. It's literally all any major sites care about anymore. "Whatever makes advertisers blush? NUKE IT!!!")
I'd mainly check it out if you have a decent following on tumblr, because you can still use that following to showcase stuff and forward link as I intend to and what not. Ain't no AI gon keep me down. 'XD

I get that. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes, but that doesn't make it any less irritating.
Agreed, it's a huge nightmare. I can kiiiiiiinda see where major companies are coming from in terms of expunging raunchy content. They run their site, they make the rules of what's inappropriate for the site...but the thing that pisses me off most is how BAD they are at handling the issue. Tumblr doesn't want porn on their site, but their approach to flagging NSFW stuff is so unbelievably "blunt force trauma" and shitty that their just banning EVERYTHING.
Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to check (although no one follows me on Tumblr, so I'm just like "a'ight, whatever").

Amen to that.
And the fact that they don't care at all and dress it all up as "inclusiveness" when in actuality, it's just easier than hiring people to actually consider context is the cherry on top of this proverbial poop sundae...
Well, I'm glad this site at least isn't offering you guys any hassle. (...Then watch, FA of all freakin' places decides, "Y'know what though...? We COULD use more advertisers..." 'XD)

I think we all underestimate how far Tumblr’s sheer incompetence goes. Hell, I just checked which of my drawings got flagged for nudity, and not even HALF of the drawings of completely naked people were detected. God, the algorithm is stupid....
(God, don’t even JOKE about that, man. XD)

I think this post pretty much says it all: https://66.media.tumblr.com/4b542c4.....kq219_1280.jpg
(Good point. Wouldn't wanna jinx Verizon suddenly taking an interest in a furry site but NOT all the kink-related stuff connected to it. 'XD)
