Looks like she's riding through the Starclands or some misty mountains outlining the little Shadowshifter village you mentioned. Beautiful work, really ingenious use of watercolor to suggest space. Though perhaps a little more atmospheric perspective is needed to push those mountains out further, but overall I like it. I'm especially fond of the dappling that is repeated in the horse and the sky - it ties the piece in well with the figures.

This is really well done! The slight splotchyness to the coloring is really effective and works well with the piece overall. It's great to see a background like this from you, as well. They're not overly detailed, but I think that helps with the feeling of the fog, here. I like the use of multiple colors for the shading, as well! Really nice.
