Kitsune Love

Beginnings

The routine Nicholas had with Sakura kept going as the days went by. It would change up sometimes and during this the male Kitsune would meet a few of the more permanent people at the hotel. The female one on the other hand enjoyed time spent with him. It wasn’t just due to age but also how the two were able to connect due to similar interests. Their powers were different but that didn’t stand in the way. Nicholas also enjoyed his time spent with her. But the guy could feel it in the wind that something was coming. He was a Kitsune that controlled that very element. Sakura on the other hand could control water despite having orange on her fur. Both of them had shared this information with each other and the fact they were the same age. And then it was time for the male to head back home. On the day of, Sakura was there to see him off. “Thanks for seeing me off,” he told her, blushing slightly. In the time of being here, Nicholas had seen how wonderful and attractive the female was. It wasn’t a zing like with some cases, but an observer looking from far above could see it was coming. “I really had a lot of fun.”

“I did to,” Sakura replied, blushing like him. “I hope you come back soon…”

“I will. Perhaps sooner than you think.”

“Huh? What’s that mean?”

“What you think it means…” he replied and turned with a wave and smirk. The female Kitsune did and couldn’t help but smile at his retreating form before seeing the male jump up and fly away on the wind. She then turned around but looked back one last time before heading back into the hotel.

A week and a half went by and Sakura felt life at the hotel was back to normal; or as normal as it got. Then one day, a letter came in the mail for her. The hotel did have that kind of service. She took it to her room and saw by the writing it was from Nicholas. The female opened it right away and realized it had been written by him. “Dear Sakura,” it began. It was like Sakura could hear his voice. “I am writing this letter to see how you’ve been. I’ve made it back safely to my clan family home. But… things aren’t as peaceful anymore. Which is why I’m returning very shortly back. I can’t say what it is here, but you will know soon.”

The letter ended with his signature and Sakura could catch a whiff of his scent still on the paper. The thought then made her go red. Why would his scent be a thing she wanted to smell anyways? Still, she kept the letter as something in her body didn’t want her to throw it away. Sakura also couldn’t help but wonder what the news was that Nicholas was brining. Well one day after getting the letter was all it took to find out. Sakura was out with Integra again and it was night like usual. But this night felt different. There was something that made the female thinks something was coming other than the male Kitsune. “What’s wrong?’ the little female asked.

Just then Sakura heard a sound of something incoming. But it wasn’t in the area she and Integra were at. It was more like it was coming outside. The Kitsune signaled to go check it out and she and the little one ran to the front steps entrance. They were just in time to see someone or something land and actually roll a few times before coming to a perfect stop at the bottom step. “Nicholas!” Sakura stated when she realized it was the male Kitsune as he picked himself up before dusting off.

“Sorry about that,” the male said. “I had to come back as fast as I could. I took too sharp of a turn at high speeds and that’s how that happened.”

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah. But we’ve got bigger problems. I need to get to the owner here. He’s going to want to hear this.”

“I can show you!” Integra said with a big grin.

“Then lead on.” She was more than happy to. This was going to be the start of something big that nobody would see coming.
