My biggest enemy in 2018 was time.
The first months of 2018 were spent agonizing over the previous year's pics. I edited and in some cases completely redrew 13 images.
Then I had to hunt after every single hour I could paint between RL obligations and the exhaustion from work. I only averaged very few completed pics per month that way, and that's not good for improvement. I actually tried to learn and improve throughout the entire year. Maybe it did something. For example, I cringe hard at all the broken anatomy from the first half of the year, not so much anymore at the second half. I even had people tell me they noticed some progress.
Also, while I still ramble on too much about that headworld of mine and last year, felt as if any furry picture was cheating and not confronting myself, I drew more animals again this year, even dragons. I forgot so much. Again, if there was just more time!
I have my goals for next year staked out, just hope the job will allow me to work on them with better efficiency.
