Done for the incredibly kind
gregoro. You have to look the part if you want to stay at Enedia's farm. Make sure that you shear... I mean, shave.

*much as I appreciate the headpat and comforting words, my focus is still too much on Enedia to follow-up with Caitlyn for now*
Uh, er, gla-a-ad to be useful, I guess? ^_^o Though I kinda feel there was maybe a little fa-a-alse advertising? W-which I say with a-a-all respect, terrifying, beautiful ma-a-agic lady! I-I mean, just, eheh, you a-a-are about to literally fleece me, here, y'know? A guy reads into that.
*my ears bounce at the sound of the shears starting* *helpless squirming ensues* And d-do I really have to be stripped and sheared right away? Maybe space out the emba-a-arrassments a bit? Since I sta-a-arted feeling sheepish, it ha-a-asn't even been two shakes of a la-a-amb's tail! And I know that for sure, since mine's still growing in. ^_^o
(In-character me's trepidation and embarrassment aside, very nice! ^__^ Who doesn't love a vacation that gets a littlewild domesticated and woolly?

Enedia: You do bring up a good point, Gregoro. It doesn't have to straight away. *looks at Caitlyn which makes Caitlyn shudder and cower* Bring him to Martha, I'm sure that she'll help him out.
Caitlyn: *whimpering* Yes, Lady Enedia. I'll help him, Lady Enedia. C-Come with me, p-please.
Caitlyn: *whimpering* Yes, Lady Enedia. I'll help him, Lady Enedia. C-Come with me, p-please.
*I'm surprised that this worked* Oh. *I bleat a sigh of relief* Th-Thank you for putting that o-o-off.
*I wince at Caitlyn's fright from Enedia's mere attention* S-Sure thing. I'd appreciate it. *I give the kindly bear woman a smile and nod, then look dubiously at my four new hooves* *I figure I'll give walking on two legs the old college try before we get moving* Hrrrng... *I gladly accept any help from Caitlyn getting up, hoping this isn't a lost cause*
So, who is this M-- *I'm already getting a little tired of hearing myself bleat: time to watch my words!* --mmmember of the team I'll be meeting? And what kind of help?

Caitlyn: S-she's one of the cursees. She came here during the Black Death with her husband. She apparently saved them, but others have their doubts. S-she's also a sheep, so I'm sure that she can help you with your current situation.
*she guides you to a fenced area of the farm*
Caitlyn: M-Martha? T-th-there's someone who needs your help.
*You see a sheep woman, knitting a jumper, similar to Caitlyn's yellow one*
Martha: A visitor? *she sees you* Hello there! You must be one of Enedia's "guests". I'm surprised that she hasn't altered your mind like the now monkey woman. How are you? What would you like help with?

*while on the way* Ohh. Fellow sheep. Yeah, that'd give some insight. ... Wait, so-o-orry, the Black Death? How old is this place?
*I manage, with careful focus and a little support, to get around well enough on two hooves* *I make a mental note to swap techniques with Henry the next time I see him*
*I smile and wave a bit, well, sheepishly when Martha calls out* Ahoy there! Eheh, yeah, I did get a little suckered into this. *I scratch at thehair wool on the back of my neck* Ca-a-all me Gregoro. *I offer a hoof to shake, and then wonder how exactly a hoofshake is supposed to work*
Oh, everything considered, I'm not ba-a-ad. *I clear my throat, blushing a bit* Eheh, though I could do with less of tha-a-a-t. *I pause, my eye developing a twitch and take a breath* Right! Could you help me with the whole... well... 'being a sheep' thing? ^_^o Y'know, some advice; things you wish someone'd told you; any surprises, good or... less good? I mean, you don't seem to have any pro-o-oblems bleating. *I eye the knitting needles* And you are amazingly handy with those hooves! So, uh... *I chuckle, feeling a bit silly* Just... really anything good to know for the new member of the flo-o-ock.
*I then pause, something she said catching up to me* And... I'm s-o-orry, a-a-altered minds what now? *I'm visibly shaken*

Martha: It's been here a while. David and I were the second couple here. The first is around here somewhere. It is very lovely to meet you, Gregoro.
Caitlyn: M-Martha, is there anything to help him stop bleating? I can see that it is getting on his nerves.
Martha: Well, guessing that Martha led you here, you must be a guest. Sadly, I can't really help with that. Caitlyn and I are very different compared to the magic that Enedia used on you. She was young when she cursed the first couple's family tree. That's why we are all here.
Caitlyn: I-I arrived in 1989. I didn't k-know that my whole family was cursed. I w-was an orphan until I arrived.
Martha: As for the being a sheep thing, of course I can help you out. One surprise is how good the grass tastes here. One not so great surprise is how often I have to... shear myself. It becomes difficult to move if I have a lot of wool, especially if it ever rains.
Caitlyn: ...I-I'm sorry that I-I forgot to mention it. I-I-I'm s-sorry.
Martha: You did join as a guest. Luckily you bought yourself some time. You might have your whole mind intact when you stay with us for the time being. It will make being a sheep easier though. You'll only be here for a week, so it won't last very long.

*I nod along to the bad news about my shiny new speech impediment* I see... Well, that makes sense. At least I asked. *I cheer up a bit* Besides, I've been stuck making more intrusive animal sounds before. Maybe I'll get better with pra-a-actice? I just hope it's no-o-ot too annoying to you two.
And that... is a hell of a way to find your relatives. *I give Caitlyn a sympathetic frown* So-o-orry to hear you were all tugged in like that.
Heh, I can believe it: Enedia seemed ready to get me shorn before my changes were even done. *I notice how fluffy I've gotten on the way over and feel my new tail twitch; I'm definitely done changing now, anyway* It does sound emba-a-arrassing, but if it needs doing, well... Best get it over with, right? ^_^o Thanks for the tips. Any other advice?
*I start calming down around mental changes, thanks to the reassurances, and give Caitlyn's apology a smile and a "don't worry about it" wave with a hoof* *I really relax at the last bit* Oh, only a week? Phew! Ha-a-a! *my tail wags a bit* I'd worried I'd get stuck in a "permanent guest" technica-a-ality. ^_^ So, thank you!
I'm still a little worried about the mental changes, though. Is it just how Enedia decides or is it more... If I act like a sheep, I'll think more like one?
'cause, circling ba-a-ack... I don't know that how good the gra-a-ass is would surprise me right now. I'd been thinking the whole way here that it looked and smelled... well, tastier than it should. In that it seemed tasty at a-a-all. *my stomach audibly growls as I lick my chops, glancing at the grassy field with a blush*
Y'know, coming into this place, I remember seeing a pig look co-o-onflicted at a huge tro-o-ough in front of him and... *shudders* I feel for him. And I didn't think I'd feel lucky to be a sheep, but eheh, here we a-a-are. ^_^o

Martha: Oh, not to worry. I bleat sometimes too. It's usually when I'm tired though, but Enedia has strict rules about sleep schedules for us.
Caitlyn: I-i-it's okay. I-i-it isn't your f-fault.
Martha: Hmm, I'll need to think about what other advice I can give you. You do look adorable as a sheep, I will admit.
Caitlyn: *she starts holding her paws nervously* It is how Enedia wants it to be, b-but this place does m-make you m-more of an animal if you're n-not careful.
Martha: You might as well have a bite. Or we could get Melanie to make you a grass pie. It's great! It's perfect for people who are in the middle of changing.

Oh. That does make me feel a bit better about it. Thanks! ... And strict sleep schedules, you say? Guess I'd better find out where I'm staying, too... *I have an unpleasantly likely thought of where I'll be staying and chuckle* So, how much will it be like an animal sta-a-all or pen?
I'll be thankful for wha-a-atever other tho-o-oughts you have. I-- *my blush kicks it up a notch, as I feel disarmed* Um...! Th-Tha-a-a-at's very kind of you to say. Thank you, Ma-a-artha. *I give another sheepish grin, putting together a compliment in answer* I guess it's better to have cuteness on one's side. Which you two know firstha-a-a-nd, of course.
*I nod to Caitlyn* I see. I'd be-e-etter be extra polite, then. Thanks, I'll be ca-a-areful while I'm here. A-a-anything special to wa-a-atch for, would you say?
*as I consider grazing, my ears waggle at mention of grass pie* Wait, tha-a-at's a thing? *I think a moment* I mean, I wouldn't wa-a-ant to trouble her or eat a whole one myself, but... Yeah, that sounds like something I've go-o-otta try. ^_^
*my stomach growls again* Ooh. Mmight need that bite to tide me over, though. Uh, excuse me. *very self-conscious, I get down on all-fours, try not to think about how natural and comfortable the stance feels, and -- after some time to psyche myself up -- go in for a mouthful of grass* ... Mmm. *I chew it over and swallow quickly* Well, you weren't wrong. The gra-a-ass is... *I chuckle* Pretty worryingly good.

Martha: Well, considering what you currently are, you best stay with me and David. Both of us sleep outside because our fur is just lovely to sleep on. *she giggles at your compliment* Oh, you are a cheeky one! Thank you so much.
Caitlyn: T-that's very s-sweet of you to say, G-Gregoro. Be careful around the t-trees. T-they hear your w-words and send them to Enedia. Y-you might not l-last as long if you t-talk about her in a bad way a-around the trees.
Martha: As much as she wants to make actual food with proper ingredients, Melanie is a fantastic chef. She's all the more happy to cook because we appreciate her far more than where and when we was before. She'll make plenty for us. The grass tastes even better in those pies. I think we should join her.
Caitlyn: I-I-Is that o-okay with you, G-Gregoro?

Thanks for the o-o-offer. *I nod and smile* Unless Enedia's picked out a spo-o-ot, I'd be delighted to join you two under the sta-a-ars. I hear they're beautiful so fa-a-ar from a city.
*I beam back at the compliment's reception* Just ho-o-onest.
*my eyes reflexively dart to the nearest trees as I take a breath* Ooh... I'm gla-a-ad I try no-o-ot to say things behind someone's ba-a-ack I wouldn't to their face, but your wa-a-arning sounds like a life-saver. Thank you, Caitlyn.
*I nod along, then realize I've kept grazing as Martha's spoken* *I give a little bleat in surprise, then finish my bite and make myself stop* Ma-a-an, these things a-a-are worse tha-a-an potato chips...
Er, I see. I can rela-a-ate: when I cook something delicious, even ta-a-asting it myself isn't so grea-a-at a-a-as seeing how much o-o-others enjoy it. ^_^ If tha-a-at's the kind of chef she is, I'm really eager to try her cooking.
*I get awkwardly back up onto two legs, and nod when I'm steady* More tha-a-an okay, I think. Ready to go when you a-a-are.

Martha: Usually Enedia just places an animal with another of the same animal, hence the load of donkeys, cows, etc. Considering there aren't as many sheep, you can stay and watch the stars with us. It is beautiful, you can see as many as the realm can show. Apparently, the outside world is too bright to see the stars. *giggles at your smile* I like a bit of honesty in a character like you, I'm sure that David is going to love you as much as I do.
Caitlyn: S-same with me and G-Geoffrey. I-I am sure he'll l-love you too. I-I'm glad you appreciate my w-warning.
Martha: *notices how much you've eaten* They are very addictive, but thankfully they are healthly. A lot of the recently transformed usually eat to keep up with their new tastebuds. Her cooking is very well done, the appreciation that was missing from her era is finally appreciated here. Apparently, she used to cook for high-class people but the thing was that they believed that the maids did it. She and the others had no appreciation or thanks from either the maids or high-class people.
Caitlyn: I-I think that we should visit her now.
Martha: I agree. Let's walk and talk, Gregoro. *they help you move towards Melanie's "kitchen"*

Mm, that makes sense. I wonder why sheep're so unco-o-ommon, but no complaints here. And that sounds amazing! *I smile, tail wagging a bit* You heard right: being a city boy, the night sky I'm used to's seemed pretty ba-a-are. Here's hoping it's a clear night.
Ha-a-a, good to hear, then. I'll look forwa-a-ard to meeting both your hubbies. ^_^
Tha-a-at's a relief about the grazing. I think I see what you mean: it sta-a-arted seeming more normal to me as I went. And I guess cha-a-anging species would work up an a-a-appetite, too.
Which'll be good news for Melanie's cooking. *I chuckle and pat my stomach* Lo-o-ots of room to a-a-appreciate wha-a-atever she's kind enough to ma-a-ake.
*I nod to the two of them* Right, let's get moving. Thanks for the help. *I start moving with them* Oh, right, I forgo-o-ot I spoke with Melanie when I first go-o-ot ehre, still human. Heh, wonder wha-a-at she'll make of the new me. ^_^o
*on the way, I think about how walking upright isn't the easiest thing* Hmm, quick question. Do you two ha-a-ave any trouble walking o-o-on two legs like this? You don't show it, so I'm guessing my trouble's just the guest curse? *I suddenly recall a tidbit I missed earlier* And he-e-ey, Ma-a-artha. Before, you mentioned the pie was good for people in the middle of cha-a-anging. So, I'm no-o-ot yet as much of a sheep as I'll get? *I try to keep any trepidation out of my voice; there's some concern, but I'm mostly just curious*

Martha: *giggling at seeing your tail wag* I can see you're excited. I'm not quite why sheep aren't Enedia's favourites here. Maybe she just felt the need for two since we have enough wool for helping out with ripped clothes. This realm has the clearest night skies, well, if you do what Enedia says.
Caitlyn: I-I'm sure that y-you'll get along with everyone.
Martha: Oh, you are too kind. I'm sure that Melanie will give you incredible food, just by being one of the kindest people here. It looks like you've already getting used to the grazing. *A worried smile appeared on her face* Don't worry, I'm sure that it'll all fade away when you return to being human.
Caitlyn: S-She'll be quite s-shocked first, b-but she'll appreciate it since y-you are a s-sheep now.
Martha: Since our curse is different, we have no trouble walking on two legs. It'll be hard for you to do, considering that you are still technically changing, it might be easier if you walk on four for now on.
Caitlyn: I-I'm sure that y-you'll get along with everyone.

Eheh, maybe a bit. *I blush a bit at the wagging* And ohh, this'd make sense, if two's usua-a-ally plenty. I guess mine'll just be surplus for emergencies. *my eyes dart to tufts of fur poking out near Caitlyn's shoulders, but don't linger*
And Enedia's magic is that stro-o-ong, huh? Hmm... Eheh, then I guess I'll definitely be getting sheared the next time she brings it up. ^_^o
*I nod to Caitlyin* If everyone's ha-a-alf as nice as you two, I don't doubt it.
*I smile, then swallow, so as not to let my mouth water* *the topic of grazing shrinks my smile a bit, but just for a moment* Y-Yeah, it is easy to slip into, but you're pro-o-obably right. Truth be told, this isn't the first time I've been an anima-a-al: the instincts ha-a-aven't stuck with me before, so it'd be a surprise if they did this time.
*I bleat a chuckle* Yeah, surprise'd ha-a-ave to be it. I figure I'll do some sta-a-aring myself when I see my reflection. ^_^
*with some reluctance, I nod* Y-You're right. These're definitely front feet, anyway. This seems like a gra-a-adual enough a-a-acclimation. Heh, tha-a-anks for humoring me so far. *I gently pull away from their support and clop back down to all-fours*
*I get to hoofing it, at least glad not to slow us down anymore* Hmm, a-a-any guesses how much more I'll cha-a-ange? *slightly forced chuckle as I look up at Caitlyn and Martha* If I need to cra-a-ane my neck up to cha-a-at this week, then tha-a-at's one thing; I just hope I'll still be able to ta-a-alk.

Martha: *still giggling to Gregoro's wagging tail* It depends on how much we "beasts" rip our clothing. Both David and I couldn't care less about our clothing so that's why we only use them for special occasions. The others keep theirs for their own reasons. I'm sure that Caitlyn keeps hers because she likes her jumper a lot, or she wore it on the date of something special.
Caitlyn: I-I-I w-wore it on my t-third date with Geoffrey. T-The day I ch-changed.
Martha: I can see why you kept it. It looks gorgeous on you.
Caitlyn: T-th-thank you, M-Martha.
Martha: Enedia's magic is strong, but it really only is because of her temper. If you annoy her, the fog will cover up the sky. I'm sure that you wouldn't annoy her, it's the others that do.
Caitlyn: T-T-There are a lot of people who are nice, b-but some do cause p-problems.
Martha: Sebastian for one. Thankfully he's more interested with being with that human who was changing into a pig. I do worry that you and the others might stay this way, even if it is just for this week. I worry that when you leave, you'll start grazing again and lose control of your humanity. Enedia loves to see that happen. It's a terrifying experience to watch.
Caitlyn: W-W-We might get you a trough of water t-to see your r-reflection.
Martha: Honestly, I have been on all fours before. Usually, as well as covering the sky with fog, if she gets mad with us, she makes us look more like the animals we are. We still have our minds and whatnot, but sometimes it's great for both me and David. Honestly, seeing how you'll be here for a week, the changes will happen day by day. The middle of the week, you'll be a full sheep. You'll still technically be able to talk, just not with us. Only Enedia. And even then, you'll just be obeying her every word.

*still lightly embarrassed about the wagging* Mm, I see. It ma-a-akes sense you'd a-a-all have different ways of thinking about clothes, and different reasons, too.
*I smile at Caitlyn, moved by the implied tale* Wow. You two must have something special. No wo-o-onder the jumper means so much to you.
Ooh... Yeah, I'll just a-a-add this to my reasons to avoid pissing her o-o-off. ^_^o
Hmm, I see, the boar... But he ca-a-an't be a-a-all ba-a-ad if he's helping someone, right? Truth be told, I've been a boar before and, uh... *cough* Grazing's tempting, but it's no-o-othing like a swinish a-a-appetite. Even if Seba-a-astian could be nicer, helping ta-a-alk someone through keeping tha-a-at in check, like you're helping me, sounds like a lo-o-ot. *a bit of doubt strikes me* ... Helping the guy no-o-ot get carried away is wha-a-at he's doing, isn't it?
*I feel a sharp chill at Martha's concerns and stop in my tracks, just for a moment* ... O-Okay, this'd be news. Frightening, ala-a-arming news. I, uh... a-a-am very open to suggestions to keep tha-a-at from ha-a-appening. To me or a-a-anyone. *I take a few breaths to try to calm myself down, finding... some success, anyway, as I think things through* I... It could be o-o-optimism, but I may have a few things going for me, at least... Still sha-a-aken, but...
A tho-o-oughtful suggestion! Thanks. *I'm thankful for a change in topic, if not actually in a rush to see my new face* I guess I'm feeling a little pa-a-arched, in any case.
*I nod along, sympathizing with Martha's description of these kind people losing even more humanity, but pause, tilting my head, unsure if I misheard something* Wait, sometimes it's great for you and David to be more like anima-a-als? If you don't mind my a-a-asking, how so?
*I stop again at Martha's next words; I'm now acutely aware of every woolly strand on my body, as every hair stands on end* Oh... Ohh, no... Tha-a-at's just... *my brain conjures several words for it, but I haven't forgotten the trees, and so go for something else honest as I shake my head* I-I don't even know wha-a-at to say. I... I'd better ma-a-ake the most of the next day or two, I guess...?

Martha: We have fur and wool to keep ourselves warm. Although David does nice a scarf during winter, so I make him one every winter.
Caitlyn: T-Thank you, Gregoro *she blushes*
Martha: Do not worry about it, it is usually the ones who stand their ground that end up on all fours. Sebastian is... hard to get him to stop. He stands his ground when he shouldn't. He needs to let things go and mellow out a bit more, or else he'll end up with no one. Laura barely speaks to him at all, not even cracking a smile when he's around, and the way he belittles David is so heartbreaking to hear and watch. He shouldn't hate him because of what he does for Enedia. She saved us from the Bla-a-ack Death. *notices that she bleated* Sorry. Sometimes I just get tired of repeating that fact. I do apologize.
Caitlyn: I-I-I know h-how difficult that is to hear, b-but we will h-help you no matter what. I-I understand why you are afraid. W-We all are. B-But if you do end up g-grazing again, she'll b-bring you hear and we'll t-talk again.
Martha: We'd best hurry if you would like to have a drink.
Caitlyn: W-Well, i-it's gr-great in some respects.
Martha: Yes, it depends on the couple. For David and I, he crawls on top of my head and we just prance around. It's just so relaxing, we honestly feel quite proud about doing it. As for Caitlyn, her husband comforts her while she roams the forest. It is rather sweet to see. You have a very kind and loving husband who clearly does care for you.
Caitlyn: I-I love him... and h-he loves me. T-that's really what I'm s-so grateful for.
Martha: We'll be here to help, I'm sure of it. *you all arrive at a small wooden hut* We are here, finally, to Melanie's home. *Martha knocks on the door* Melanie? Are you there? *the door opens to reveal a cow woman with brown fur and a dress covered in grass stains*
Melanie: Hello, Martha, how kind of you to visit. And Caitlyn as well! That is marvelous. Now who is this cute little guy?
Caitlyn: H-H-He is one of the guests h-here.
Martha: He joined as a guest to Enedia's Farm because she needed some help.
Melanie: Oh, you poor guy *she scratches behind your ears* I'll make you something nice, and you do look thirsty as well, so I'll get that for you as well.
Caitlyn: T-Thank you, Gregoro *she blushes*

*I first smile back at the two cursed ones, then frown at Sebastian's description* I see. He does sound prickly, though I can't help feeling ba-a-ad for him; it'd be ha-a-ard to be around -- much less be -- someone like tha-a-at. I'm so-o-orry to hear how he treats your husba-a-and. *wondering, I tilt my head* Hm, I'm curious, though. No pressure, but... wha-a-at does David do for Enedia?
*I chuckle a bit, relaxing a surprising amount at Martha's bleat* No apo-o-ologies needed; if I said so-o-orry every time, I couldn't do a-a-anything else. 'sides, I know it's emba-a-arrassing, but hearing it from you's helped me feel a lo-o-ot less self-co-o-onscious about it. So, tha-a-anks. ^_^
*I take a breath at Caitlyn's encouragement, bolstering a bit*Y-Yeah, you're right. I know you will, so tha-a-ank you both for tha-a-at, too. ^_^ If we're doing a-a-all there is to be done, then... no sense worrying too much abo-o-out the way things turn out.
Hunh, that's fa-a-ascinating. I'm gla-a-ad you find ways to enjoy yourselves, even when you do turn more beastly. *a thoughtful smile* And t'd pro-o-obably be wiser for me to go about pra-a-ancing or exploring or wha-a-atever tha-a-an getting bored and defa-a-aulting to sheep things.
*I smile as Melanie answers the door, much as I blush at being called cute* A-A pleasure to see you again, Melanie. *I wonder if she'll recognize the shirt and glasses* And even more to greet you pro-o-oper. *I extend a forehoof to shake, as high as I can reach* Ca-a-all me Gregoro.
*her ear scratch catches me off-guard and leaves me conflicted: on the one horn, being pet like an animal (even if animal I may be) is in the running for the most embarrassing thing since I got here, but on the other... it's coming from a kind place and just feels so good* *despite blushing furiously, I lean into the scritching, guiding her hoof-like fingers to an especially itchy region* *a contented bleat slips out, despite my efforts* S-S-So-o-orry. A-And tha-a-anks.
*after a breath to collect myself, I try to make up for that display* This would be most kind and generous of you. I would be obliged. *I give a slight bow, mustering every bit of my poise and dignity* *my efforts are again ruined by my wagging tail giving away just how eager I am*

Martha: Prickly doesn't seem to cover it. We do feel sorry for him but he makes it so hard to be. David tries to stand up but he has never really acted that way. He always sees the positives in life, that's why I love him, so that's why he's never really troubled by being like this. We always thank Enedia for saving our lives, help out around the farm, shear my wool to fix up clothes. You should have seen Dorothy's jacket, we ran out of material so we had to improvise with tea towels. Maybe because we are indulging more in our animal side, but then again, anyone would just to avoid the plague. No need to thank me for that, my friend, I'm just happy to help out.
Caitlyn: I-I-If we did all t-there is and i-it worked, w-we wouldn't be t-talking, a-and I wouldn't have m-met you. Q-quite honestly, I-I'm glad that I h-have someone l-like you to help me here t-too.
Martha: We're all here for you, Caitlyn, just like you're here for us.
Caitlyn: T-Thank you, Martha. I-It means a l-lot. I-I don't like l-looking like a n-normal bear, it makes me t-think that I m-might hurt someone. I-I'm very happy that G-Geoffrey s-supports me even w-when I'm a b-beast, but I-I don't like being one.
Martha: Either way, Caitlyn, your husband will support you no matter what, even if you don't like being taller than he is.
Caitlyn: T-That part I d-don't mind actually. *blushes as she smiles cheekily*
Melanie: Oh yes, now I remember. How very kind to meet you again. Gregoro, is it? Such a lovely name. You were right about the highland cow, he is quite handsome. Don't tell my husband about that. You are quite cute yourself as well. Not a problem at all, Gregoro, I'll get you that pile of water, as well as a slice of grass pie.
Martha: Make that two, Melanie. I love your grass pie.
Caitlyn: *kneeled down and scratched your ear* I-I think that I'm getting u-used to being with y-you. I'm so sorry that I-I'm nervous around you, I'm not good with strangers around the farm, nor with Enedia, and even then I'm a-afraid of certain places around this farm. I do hope that you f-forgive me. *she giggles a bit because of your wagging tail* It is nice to meet you, Gregoro, sheep or not.

I think I ca-a-an relate: I a-a-always try to look for silver linings, too. *hearing the list of things Martha and her husband do, I nod* Those don't sound ba-a-ad to me. Really, they just seem kinda pra-a-actical, given everything. *I tilt my head* I guess I'd need to know Seba-a-astian to see why tha-a-at'd get his tail in a twist?
*I follow along as Martha and Caitlyn have their back-and-forth, smiling as it goes* I'm gla-a-ad to know how tight-knit you've a-a-all become. Rough as things seem here, tha-a-at's a real bright spot.
Eheh, tha-a-anks. With everyone I've met here, cute looks seem pretty standa-a-ard-issue for Enedia's spells. ^_^ And the hospita-a-ality's appreciated! Ma-a-artha's been ta-a-alking up your pies the whole way here: I'm looking forwa-a-ard to a bite.
*figuring in for a penny, in for a pound, I lean my head right on into Caitlyn's ear-scritches, letting out another happy little bleat* Mmmm, I don't think shyness and cau-au-aution need forgiving. You've helped me ease into things here, plenty. I'm just gla-a-ad you're feeling better around me. ^_^ ... *I smirk at a playful thought* But if you need to "make it up to me," then sure. Just, uh, keep doing wha-a-at you're doing a little while. ^_^o Tha-a-at feels amazing~
*while blissing out in that little slice of heaven, I figure I should take a stab at conversation* So, wha-a-at places around the fa-a-arm frighten you, Caitlyn? I bet there're good reasons to be concerned about 'em.

Martha: Perhaps Sebastian just preferred his normal life. Mine and David's life wasn't something that we want to return to. If we stayed for longer, we would have most likely died. Seeing David thank Enedia must have been hell for him, because when we first met him and Laura, she didn't say a word until she caught up with us separately, away from Sebastian. He clearly was saddened by Laura's silence, so seeing David must have made it worse. It wasn't his fault, he had no other option. If you do see him, good luck.
Caitlyn: *still scratching your woolly head* We can only work together and be happy with what we've got. I know so many people miss what they would have done if they weren't cursed, but there are some who can at least be thankful for having someone with them. I know how thankful I am that Geoffrey deliberately cursed himself just to stay with me and help. I couldn't have done it alone.
Melanie: Oh, Martha, thank you! I knew I could count on you to spread the word about my cooking. It's better than eating the grass, but then again, the grass is good as well. *she leaves to slice her grass pie*
Caitlyn: *giggling as you bleat again* I will, Gregoro. I'm sure that you'll never get tired of it. Usually, anywhere around here isn't safe from Enedia. The grass makes guests honestly feel comfortable about what they are now, like they never were anything else but animals. The trees are all connected to Enedia, they hear your words and pass them on so that whatever curse you have currently would get worse and worse, until you stay this way. They move too. They all move. They never are standing still. Don't say anything bad or you might end up surrounded b-by them. *her nervousness was starting to come back* A-a-and then, you'll b-be with Enedia a-alone and s-she'll... s-she'll... s-she'll make you i-i-into a b-b-beast. Her w-w-weapon. Y-Y-You c-could end u-up h-h-h-h-hurting someone.
Martha: *comforting Caitlyn* Dear, dear, it is alright, it is okay. You are not with her here, you're here with us. Melanie, could you make that two pales of water?
Melanie: Of course. *gives a plate of grass pie to Martha and places the other plate on the floor for you* Now I know how embarrassing eating off the floor will be for you, but this is really your best option at the present moment, seeing how you are still changing and all. Don't worry about the grass, parts of the grass have been from outside the realm, and the ones from inside the realm have been washed thoroughly. I'll come back with your pales. *pats Caitlyn on the shoulder* It's going to be alright, dear. *she walks back off. The slice of grass pie is quite big*

Mmm, I see. Tha-a-at sounds worth knowing, so I'll bear it in mind. Seems likely I'll meet him at some point; the fa-a-arm's only so big.
*still leaning contentedly into the scratches* Holding close to friends and dear ones sounds like the best wa-a-ay to get through this. And I don't think it's just the sheep in me ta-a-alking. ^_^
And ha-a-aving gotten in a few more nibbles of gra-a-ass than I... perhaps should've, this'd be one more reason to look forward to the pie. ^_^
*frowning in sympathy up at Caitlyn's resurging panic, I set a forehoof on her side* Hey, hey, now; deep breaths. I'm ta-a-aking everything everyone's said to hea-a-art, to try to keep things from getting too ba-a-a-a-ad. *I clear my throat, then smile a bit* 'sides, don't forget two things. First, this a-a-ain't my first rodeo with beastly instincts: pra-a-actice ma-a-akes perfect, y'know. Second, worrying about my huma-a-anity's fine -- I know I do -- but don't fret about my hurting anyone. I mean, worst ca-a-ase, let's be serious: *my smile turns a bit bashful, but mostly playful* I'm a sheep. Trying to pla-a-ay "engine of destruction" should get more la-a-aughs than screams.
Ooh, tha-a-anks, Melanie! *I greet the large slice with a smile, a tail wag, and another stomach grumble* It's good to hear about the preca-a-autions. *my expression takes a slight turn for the sheepish* Yeah, eating muzzle-to-pla-a-ate isn't... ideal, but it's no-o-ot my first meal eaten like this. *I chuckle* 'sides, these two've a-a-already seen me gra-a-aze. The pla-a-ate ha-a-as me feeling pra-a-actically human again. ^_^
*with some restraint, I dig in, trying not to get too much of it all over my face*

Martha: It is very likely, but considering how many generations of our name has been cursed, you might bump into some others. None of them, however, are as rude as Sebastian.
Caitlyn: *trying to take in the deep breaths but come out more like hyperventilating* But y-you will! E-Everyone here d-does! E-Even Melanie!
Melanie: But I don't let that worry me, Caitlyn. *grabs the two pales and places them towards the two of you* Take a drink and relax for a bit. We are all here for you. You have to let us help you.
Caitlyn: *taking a sip of her water, her breaths calm* T-Thank you. Thank you all. S-She just m-makes me worry. I worry that I might hurt Geoffrey. I-I could never forgive myself if I hurt him, and I don't think he would f-forgive me either. I'm sorry, Gregoro. Not matter what happens, Enedia will change us into her weapons against others, even ourselves.
Melanie: Sadly, she is right. No matter if the animal is harmless, she'll find a way to change you into a beast of war. Not even a cow can be safe. If she needs someone to break something, she'll change my mind and then I'll grow the horns again. Ene-
Caitlyn: P-P-Please. Please can w-we not talk about Enedia a-again.
Melanie: I am sorry, Caitlyn. I'll leave you all alone for the moment. I understand that I don't want to get in anyone's way.
Caitlyn: No, no, you c-can stay. I'm sorry as well. I-I'm just... scared.
Martha: We all are, Caitlyn. We fear ourselves together. That is why we must work against her power. Together.

*nods* True. A bridge to be crossed when I come to it, I guess.
*looks up in concern at Caitlyn's panic, but doesn't know what words or deeds might help* *also feels a chill down the spine: being used as a tool to hurt people is... genuinely frightening*
*focuses on that grass pie while listening, grateful that Melanie and Martha are doing their best to calm everyone down* *finds said pie very easy to focus on: so good*
*plate clean, gives Caitlyn a nod and smile to Martha's conclusion* Well-said. ^_^ *may look slightly ridiculous with blades of grass and bits of pie on may face*
*decides to grant the bear's wish for a new conversation topic* So, Melanie's gra-a-ass pie is about the best thing I've ever eaten. *licks his chops, clearing some of the pie splotches* You deserve to be proud of those! I don't suppose I could please have another? I feel like I could eat those a-a-all day! *snickers* I don't suppose I'm a-a-actually turning into a woolly pig and everyone's too polite to break it to me?
*catching my rippling reflection in my water pale, I sober up a bit* ... Or I guess tha-a-at settles tha-a-at... Heh... *I get a bit lost in studying it, watching the sheep's face copy my moves and expressions, noticing some bits of familiarity with my human look, and generally being weirded the heck out, if intrigued*

Caitlyn: T-T-Thank you, G-G-Gregoro.
*Melanie strokes her hair, trying her best to calm her down.*
Melanie: Thank you for your kind comments, Gregoro. You might be able to help me as well with the next batch, but yes, we do have some more slices if you want them.
Martha: And you definitely aren't turning into a wooly pig. I remember when Melanie first made them, I couldn't stop eating them. Thankfully, it doesn't go to our waists, but it goes to our wool. I would be careful about eating them if you care about not being sheered by Enedia just yet.
*Caitlyn notices you looking at your reflection.*
Caitlyn: I-I-It's terrifying t-the first time y-you see yourself. Y-Y-You feel l-like a monster. Y-You feel like a f-freak. *sobs* E-E-Especially i-if you already f-felt like an o-outcast. *she starts to cry* I-I mean, look at me! I'm a b-beast! I c-can't look l-like this outside t-this r-r-realm.
*Martha gave Caitlyn a big "bear" hug.*
Martha: You aren't the only one who has changed. We are all here to support you.
Melanie: I know how hard this is for you, as it is hard for us too, but we all love you and care for you. Wouldn't you like another slice of grass pie?
*Caitlyn whimpered and shook her head slowly*
Melanie: Okay... If you need anything, you can tell us...

*I smile up at Caitlyn and nod*
Mm, yeah, another slice or two sounds like it'd hit the spo-o-ot. *again with the tail-wagging* And I dunno how I'd help like this, but I'll take your word for it, Melanie: sounds like a fun cha-a-allenge. ^_^
And good to know the a-a-appetite's normal for a sheep, Ma-a-artha. *I think, noting my wool does seem a bit thicker* Mm, if the trade-o-o-off's grazing and losing my mind or getting shaved more often from these things... I think I know which I'd ra-a-ather do. *I nod*
*I break away from studying the new me at Caitlyn's freak-out* *not really in a position to offer a hug in reassurance, I swallow a bit of pride, then give her a nuzzle* Hey, hey, you're no-o-ot sca-a-ary. I mean, I can't speak for Ma-a-artha, but... *I flash a smile with my herbivore's teeth and gesture off into the distance* If you were, I'd be a fluffy, white do-o-ot there right about now. *I look a bit less jokey* You do look tough, though; it meant having you with me made me feel a lo-o-ot safer right after the changes sta-a-arted.

*Caitlyn sniffles and hugs you tight*
Caitlyn: Thank you...
Melanie: Sheep, like how you currently, know where the best grass is. It won't be a challenge for you when you go out there.
Martha: It's why she always brings me. They have a particular nose for good grass. Perhaps that is just an advantage of being on the farm here. You know, if you were to stay here, with your mind in tact, you would fit in perfectly with us. Perhaps you could visit more often.

*I hug back as best I can, patting her shoulder with a hoof* Think nothin' of it. ^_^
And mmm, tha-a-at'd do it. Yeah, I guess when I sta-a-arted grazing, I went for where it smelled sweetest. Good to know!
*I smile at Martha's words* I'm feelin' a little touched to hear you say so. I wouldn't wa-a-ant the end of this week to be goodbye for good, either. *I think a bit*
Hmm, d'you think Enedia would go for it, though? O-O-Obviously, I'd have to put up with being whatever shape she'd decide I should be, a-a-and make myself useful while I'm here, but it could be worth it, seeing you a-a-all. *I smirk* No-o-ot like I'm a stranger to feeling silly, anyway.

*Caitlyn smiled as she hugged you closer*
Martha: Enedia will be more than happy to have another visitor stay here and be changed by her. And while you stay, you have your mind, your normal mind, without any alterations. I must give you a place to stay. You could be with either three of us.

*I'm in no hurry to leave the cuddle session*
Hunh. Well, gla-a-ad it'll be an easy sell to her; I'd be fine with those terms, whenever I stay a while. *my tail gives a wag*
Hm, a-a-as to where... I'm staying with you and David this time, since you said it made sense for a sheep. Maybe it'd work best to just see how I, uh, shape up each visit, then work out where I'll be the least bo-o-other? We could come up with something more set, though, if tha-a-at'd be easier.

Martha: I'm sure that she'll love a visitor like you! We usually don't get many. *she giggles as she looks at your wagging tail* For a sheep of your caliber, you best stay with us for now. It makes sense since during this week, you'll be more sheep than human, and you need someone to teach you how to be here and live like, well, a sheep.
*Caitlyn nuzzles you, her tears wiping on your wool*

*I pay the tears no mind, giving back a playful nuzzle of my own*
Heh, so I'd ima-a-agine. ^_^ And agreed, we're set on the pra-a-acticalities of those acco-o-ommodations. Looking forward to your lessons in Ovine Life 101!
Hmm... *I look briefly uneasy* I guess ta-a-alking to Enedia about this would make sense. She was keen on shearing me, too... *bleating sigh* Maybe I should get tha-a-at over with. She could be in a better mood if I go ba-a-ack without her ha-a-aving to find me, too.

*Caitlyn, as much as she doesn't want to, lets you go*
Martha: I look forward to hearing from you again.
Melanie: Same here. A lot more slices for you when you come back.
Caitlyn: T-T-T-Take c-care, Gregoro.
*As you step out of Melanie's home, you smell the fresh grass and breathe the fresh air. Enedia was there, waiting by the shearing shed.*

Oh, I doubt I'll be lo-o-ong. ^_^ Thanks again, for the pie and for helping me get my bearings. See you soon! *I wave a bit awkwardly with a forehoof, then depart*
*I breathe deep as I trot along* *I think, 'Mmm. The fresh smell and feel to everything was part of the appeal of a farm in the first place, wasn't it. Granted, I didn't expect I'd be doing my walking on all-fours, breathing through larger nostrils, or finding the grass so... appetizing. Heh, way my life's been lately, though, I really should have.'*
*resisting the temptation to graze, I approach Enedia at the shed, with only a little trepidation* *I clear my throat, only a bit of a bleat coming out*
Uh. Hi again, Lady Enedia-a-a. Thank you for putting o-o-off the shave a bit while I got a bit more used to things. If now's a good time for you, I think I'm, eheh, ready for that "ma-a-akeover" you mentioned. *again with the sheepish grin*

*Surprised, I consider the question carefully for a time and try to pick my words with care*
Hmm... I'll a-a-answer, but I like to fully know more before I do. I... ha-a-ave a strong opinion here, but try to stay humble: there could a-a-always be some information I'm missing, which might cha-a-ange my mind. Like... I don't know why you do this. A-a-and, if I don't overreach... Why do you think it's the right thing? Ha-a-as anything made you doubt that it is?

Enedia: I doubt myself, Gregoro. I have doubted myself since I met Moth and Acrathia. What I did to them, I did it out of anger, revenge and hatred for that boar. The whole village, burned and covered in the blood of those who they killed, I had to be vengeful. I couldn't let them live like kings on blood-soiled land.
*I nod along, then look aghast at news of the village* I...! I see. Tha-a-at's horrific... No wonder you felt the way you have.
I'm a-a-also impressed you seriously consider you might be wrong. It's no-o-ot an easy thing. When in doubt for something this big, most would be too afra-a-aid; they'd prefer to bury those doubts, keep assuming they're right, a-a-and never consider if there might be a better way.
For Seba-a-astian... *I shake my head* I-I don't know; it's too big. But if the rest ha-a-ave no blood on their ha-a-ands... Then they shouldn't inhe-e-erit his sins. *I take a breath* Forcing them to live a-a-as beasts here, unless they'd ha-a-ave wished it, isn't right.
*my ears flick and I perk up my head* Hmm... What other solutions ha-a-ave you considered? I'm very new to ma-a-agic, so I don't know of the po-o-ossibilities, but... Perha-a-aps... if the bloodline were simply warned convincingly and then forbidden from living on those ill-gotten la-a-ands or enjoying any wealth from there... Could you be open to a compromise like tha-a-at?

A-a-ahh, I see. Hm... *I furrow my brow* But... to ha-a-ave dreamed something tha-a-at vivid and horrible... Could they forget? I don't think I could, and tha-a-at's just from hearing about it. Even if they never dreamed about it aga-a-ain, they'd carry the understanding for the rest of their lives.
*I frown sadly* I guess I don't. Just... If this isn't out of turn... Please remember tha-a-at it's not just a choice between what you're doing now and letting everyone go sco-o-ot-free. If you think there might be something more fitting in between, trying out something else might soothe those doubts.
And... Wait, really? *I shiver in the sudden cold, looking over my more naked body* Ooooh, didn't realize how chilly it'd gotten. *I lift and set each leg in turn, helping the blood flow better* Heheh, I'm impressed! *I chuckle* I didn't think getting sheared could be tha-a-at painless. Tha-a-anks. You've got a really gentle touch on your ha-a-ands! *I hope the subtext of, "Maybe consider using it more often in other areas," comes across without being preachy -- and with enough wiggle room for plausible deniability*
Okay, so, now tha-a-at I'm likely looking a little sillier... Would you like to keep talking or would you like me to go? *I poke curiously at the wool that used to be part of me* And... anything I should help do with... a-a-all this...? ^_^o

*I slow, looking sorely tempted* Hm, didn't realize how fa-a-ar it was... This fa-a-arm's bigger tha-a-an I thought... *I recall I never did get that second slice of pie at Melanie's; no wonder I'm still feeling peckish*
Right, the pie! I'm supposed to help find the best gra-a-ass for the next one... *I pause, setting down the bag, then sniff at the pasture* Hm, this smells pretty good, but how do I know how it ta-a-astes... *I lick my chops, then continue rationalizing: 'Okay, so I didn't realize I was going overboard earlier for a bit. But that was then! I know the risks and I know to be careful now. So. Just one little bite. For the road. That's fine. Just... one bite.'*
*I bend down for a bite of grass* *... Okay, maybe not just one...*
(I got a good feelin' about this. )

*I finish my last mouthful, a bit embarrassed, but satisfied* *I take a few extra moments to lick my chops and paw at my face to wipe away any lingering blades of grass* *evidence as well hidden as it's going to get, I pick the bag of wool back up in my mouth*
*turning back toward Melanie's, I figure this is as good a time as any to try running in this body and head off*

*you managed to make it without dropping any of the wool.*
Martha: Hello, Gre- Oh I see that you have collected your own wool for me to knit another jumper!
Melanie: That's well deserving of a piece of pie. *In seconds, she gives you a plate of grass pie. Maybe she was expecting you to ask for some more.*
*Caitlyn smiled as she waved at you, but she was still nervous around here.*

*after quickly making that pie disappear, I hug Caitlyn back in gratitude*
Mmmm, sounds wonderful, Melanie. ^_^ I really could eat these a-a-all day.
*I suddenly remember the last thing Enedia said and pause, ears flicking* Oh. Shouldn't, though. Enedia a-a-asked for me to deliver the wool and come ba-a-ack. Uh, good pop-in, pop-out visit, though! *I smile sheepishly* I'll be by again la-a-ater.

Rela-a-ax. ^_^ She didn't keep me long before, so I doubt this'll be any different.
I'll be ba-a-ack in a bit. Looking forward to seeing you again, never mind the tour and pie!
*I head back off toward the shearing shed* *this time, I'm determined not to let sheepish temptations get the better of me*

*Enedia sees you in the distance*
Enedia: That was... surprisingly quick. That is something that has never happened before. Not with any guest. Not with any cursee. I'm actually surprised. Perhaps there might be more use for you than being a guest here. Anyways, I have asked to talk you. Join me in the manor.

*I feel something like victory, but I'm panting from the run when I reach Enedia, little bleats slipping out as I do* Heh... Tha-a-anks... Heheh... Well, you... said to... go quickly. I agreed. It'd... be rude to... keep you waiting. *I take a deep breath and flash a playful smile* I... only look like I was raised in a ba-a-arn.
*I keep the smile, but look a little less self-congratulatory* But... kind as tha-a-at is of you... I wouldn't set... too much stock in me... Just lucky I caught myself or I'd... still be out there... Might no-o-ot be so... lucky, next time...
But yes. To the ma-a-anor. *having mostly caught my breath, I follow Enedia's lead*

*She leads you inside the manor. The wooden walls creak, like it was alive and it was trying to speak. The majority of the manor was wooden, almost nothing inside wasn't made of wood. She brings you into a empty room and in seconds, a throne made out of wood forms itself from the floor.*
*I'm aware of my hooves click-clacking against the wooden floor as I follow, but less than I'd be if the ambience wasn't a bit... eerie*
*I tense in surprise as the throne starts to rise, but settle down when I realize what it's doing* That... looks well-formed. It's, uh... quite the pla-a-ace you keep, here. *I'm not lying; I find the place very stately and impressive, just also kinda creepy*

Enedia: Our entire village taught ourselves. We shared everything together. We knew and explored all types of magic, including the dark arts and we all used it for helping each other. We didn't use it as a weapon. We just learnt it. None of us thought that we would use it against anyone. I was the first to use it as a weapon. Others tried, but they were killed. My father was a rich historian in all magic. He ended up as their slave. My mother would help out anyone that needed it, or even wanted it. She died from infection from that fire. The fire that burned down everything. Never take them for granted, Gregoro. Never.
Sympathy ca-a-an, I guess; I've been lucky with it leading me out, too, though.
And... I-I see. *I look at the floorboards beneath my feet* ... I-If you'd indulge my curiosity... How does tha-a-at feel to her? Is she in a-a-all this by choice? Or does she just make the most of unusual circumsta-a-ance?

Enedia: I am unsure if she feels most of our footsteps.
*A voice echoes through your mind, one that is understandable to you.*
Mother: I feel it softly, my child, but it does not hurt me. It is a feeling that one has when a insect is on your shoulder. You barely notice it.

*I nod* I... think I get tha-a-at sense. You ha-a-ave a very... soothing presence.
*my head perks up a moment* Oh, I've forgotten my ma-a-anners. *I briefly decide there's not really an ideal direction, and so simply give as graceful a quadrupedal bow as I can* I go by Gregoro. A pleasure to meet you.

*I get a slightly dreamy expression, so soothing is this voice* Mmm, d'you mean right now, or in a more... general life sa-a-atisfa-a-action kinda way? Either way, not too ba-a-AAAd.
*the bleating shakes me a bit* Well, I guess I could do without making tha-a-at sound so much. *I lift and examine a forehoof* Kinda miss ha-a-ands, too. Dunno if I'm miserable about 'em, though.

Hrrm... *I tilt my head, distracted at the hint of internal conflict* ... Uh! Well, at least being able to get upright could be ha-a-andy, for sure. So would ha-a-ands, at tha-a-at. Bit more... voice control, too.
But I guess I can apprecia-a-ate the different perspective down here, too. ^_^ Would be interesting to a-a-alk possibilities, at least.

Ha! XD If it helps, I kind of started in that chain without much knowledge of Bear's setting, characters, etc. Which isn't to say you're wrong about there being quite a bit of background. I just don't think much of it's really necessary to get the gist of that plus-sized RP chat. And a fair bit of background gets conveyed anyway, since I'm a clueless rube newcomer.
Then again, this is also over two weeks old: you may have
