Not being able to draw makes me incredibly sad. My arm hurting makes me unimaginably sad. I can't use my arm much for anything without it screaming at me and it upsets me. It is so boring not being able to do anything, and I very much don't like it, and nothing I'm doing for my arm is helping for the last two months. because I have to keep using my arm for normal daily things, too. It's really hard not to.
I have projects that I need completed that are stuck on indefinite hold until something gets better. It sucks.

Just something I thought of recently when another friend of mine was recovering from a nasty broken forearm on his dominant side, he went through exactly what you are now. He was extremely depressed and had trouble doing anything, especially drawing because it was his joy. Then, one day, he was all smiles and it was so sudden that I was confused. Mind you, this was my senior year in high school and he was a diehard art student. I asked him what happened for him to be so happy all of a sudden. He dragged me, sort of, to his art class (I had a free period and the art teacher was so nice that she let me stay) and he showed me his crazy idea. He asked me, "Hey, you know those news stories and articles about people growing up with no arms and using their feet for everything? Well, I've been trying to do similar."
His solution was to use unconventional methods to cope with his disabled arm, some of which extended to feet, shoes, face, and a couple times he even used his hair when he was painting. In hindsight, the teacher really shouldn't have let him do that, but I think she let him because she didn't have the heart to tell him not to. He didn't have paint in his hair afterward because she gave him a pass to the gym lockers and chased him out of the class with a bottle of shampoo.
Moral of my long-ass story is, try doing something you've never thought to try before, because you never know if it'll be something great.
