I actually saw a menorah made with Lava lamps. It was a weird cool!

I usually go through a majority of my candle box for those eight nights... but by the end they do definitely throw out some light!

something I've had kicking around the back of my mind for a long time.is the theme to the Terminator donr too sound like it's Christmas theme wear its ho ho ho kind of sound to it. In either 1946 or '47, when Christmas light manufacturers were transitioning from the 15V / 8 bulb C6 sets (the old ones wired in series, so that if one burned out, the whole string went out) to the newer 120V parallel-wired C7 sets, several of the manufacturers were also beginning to make and market Hanukkah decorations. Perhaps inevitably, someone came up with the idea of using the old C6 hardware to make electric menorahs, one of the few times ever that marketting had a good idea, and engineering screwed it up. For many years, these were red-hot items among antique Christmas light collectors, although by the late 90s pretty much all of them had rotted away due to the first-generation bromine fire retardant that the plastic had been treated with.

Shamash is the 'servant candle', the center candle in a menorah.

We use a Menorah that's been in the family since we first moved here back in 1905...Bronze, crusted with patina and wear and tear and covered in wax...And I love it. <:) It's a link to my past. And I will always treasure it during the Chanukah season.
