Because that's one of the most powerful, meaningful and life-changing experiences one can go through in life and not being in one makes you realize how much you might be missing out on in life every day by not having anyone around to share your life and your deepest thoughts / emotions with while your life silently goes by. Living a "party animal" or "lonewolf" lifestyle might seem fun and empowering on the surface but it gets old fast and you grow tired of all the shallow conversations and similar experiences, you start craving something more meaninful, deep, comforting, something that would light that fire back in you and make you feel alive again in a way that nothing else but a relationship / love can... that's why. Also once you start calling your relationship "a problem" then it's probably time to get rid of it and find a better one. I believe it was Dane Cook who called those relationships "relationshits". Anyway, just thought I'd quickly stop by and share my 2 cents. Hear that argument often enough irl that it starts ticking me off by now -.-'

Oh, I do fully agree with that! I suppose I should have noted that the person I talked to is rather sarcastic most of the time, and was going through some passing lows of their own relationship at the time.
