If that is an answer, the question must have been very silly.

Outright stupid. Care for the environment is sensible, but the baddies in that cartoon were too cartoonish - pollution for the sake of pollution and so on. The story 'The Lorax' has the Onceler character being rather stupid for a businessman and re-investing in, or insuring his supply of raw materials and so on, but even that was less nonsensical.

I did know of a fellow with small business that did metal work, but some was electroplating - a chemical-intensive thing often using rather nasty chemicals. The waste of the then-current systems offended him. He spent some time working on the problem and found he could re-cycle almost everything with some care and had one or two barrels of toxic waste a year rather than several. The inspectors, once they looked over everything and were convinced he wasn't faking anything, were thrilled -- everybody won. Alright, the toxic waste is still a problem, but the less the better.

Not that I am aware of, but I would not be surprised if he published it or tried to - sure, he saved some money, but it seemed to be the wastefulness of the unmodified system that offended him.
