These animals, called ‘spinae,’ live in an arid environment, Wastep Plains. These are primarily carnivorous omnivores, hunting prey using mainly their quills, while eating fruits and vegetables supplementarily. Spinae can simply ram into prey with their heads down, but in my previous post, about Slash Wribs, I mentioned my next post would have a creature with more notable magic.
Spinae do regularly use enhancement magic, as it’s just an efficiency boost. They also use water magic though, which is useful for supplemental hydration, especially in an arid environment. More notably though is the synergy between both kinds of magic. The 2 kinds of magic can both effect most bodily fluids, with blood being the notable in this case. The effects stack with each other, allowing blood to be more efficiently controlled than water. This is usually useless unless some other synergy is added. In this case, blood is able to move detatched quills. Nice for killing prey, and occasionally getting fruit.
Imagine being chased by a horse with quills it could control in the air using what seemed to be telekinesis and blood.
