December 9th 2018, I finally fulfilled my promise by returning back to Japan to visit the new life size Gundam Unicorn statue. This time not as tourist but representing Malaysia for GBWC 2018 final in Japan. I am competing with 16 other countries for 2018 championship. Much more challenging compare to my 2010 competition in Hong Kong. This year 2018 was tough as every country's build are very impressive and high quality. In the end a bit sad that I din't win anything, I rank 6th out of 16 countries, diffidently a lot more to improve for my gunpla building skills, I do vow to return again to do better in the future.
The Trip was best describe as wonderful, looking at other country's entries was really a humbling experience as it shows there are much more talented builder out there. Also happy to meet some of them and we exchange stories of our builds especially all the accidents we each faced during our build. Overall Bandai did very well organizing the event.
The life size Gundam Unicorn statue was a marvel to look at, much taller and bigger than RX-78. Although lacking details compare to the previous RX-78, but still a marvel to look at, especially the transformation sequence from Unicorn to Destroy mode. Night time was the real treat as the Unicorn's psycho frame lights up dancing with the music, I did teared up watching the light show, a very different experience compare to the RX-78. Speaking about RX-78 there are news that the original RX-78 statue will be convert to a moving statue currently in development in Yokohama, They said they will unveil it for Gundam's 40th anniversary in 2019, which gives me more reason to return to compete.
My sister stitch together a video documenting the adventure, click here for video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoJ4vL__V7s be sure to check the Gundam Unicorn light show at the end, you won't be disappointed, even when I re-watch back the video it still brings tears to my eyes on how beautiful Gundam unicorn statue are. Feel free to share it as well.

Awesome video, by the way! I've been interested in making miniature scale objects, but I have never had enough personal interest to become self-motivated to make miniatures. Your video has encouraged me to start working on a Gundam model design that I like. You have been like a teacher to me. May I call you sensei or senpai because you are like a teacher to me?
I love your work! Keep inspiring your veiwers!
