Day 31b - Kleer Huntress
Since they do not have that huge scythe-like mono claw that their feral counterparts have, they have to rely on their great strength and agility for their hunting needs, and one tool that helps is the ball-and-chain, used for killing smaller prey and stunning larger prey, allowing them to safely deliver the killing swipe or bite.

Interesting. The ball-and-chain combo rather reminds me of the original use of the boomerang as a hunting too for small prey. My guess is the prey on their planet must need to be taken down with stronger stuff, are slow but perhaps dangerous at close range. Nice :)
The horn on the right side seems a little frontal. And some problems with porportion and depth on the arms. Those are the two trickiest things to convey. I always have problems with proportion if I don't use a chart. All in all I like this interpretation of the kleers :) It would certainly be a cool twist if this is what they looked like rather than reptilian like the other non-human/zombie enemies in the game. Other than a few problems with proportion, these are great concept pieces :)

The ball-and-chain in general looks like it's floating, but I can't pinpoint why. I guess it's because there's not much indication of dynamic movement -- the limps aren't taut enough or something, maybe.
Do you gesture line? Your pieces are wonderful, anatomically, but they lack.. a sense of movement, I guess. Unfortunately, I'm not really sure what to suggest for that... maybe speed-sketches (by which I mean 30 seconds or less) of action poses to practice with. (A page of those and you've got at least two days' worth of LulzDrawz, all in under five minutes' work. :D) You're basically forced to capture the essence of the gesture, because that's all you have time for. It might help.
