Timeless Bestiary: Stag-tusks

I wanna draw a mini bestiary featuring the creatures that inhabit the world of Timeless.
~~
Stag-tusks are a very aggressive type of wild boar native to the steppes. Both males and females have antler-tusks, although male tusks are bigger, and only males have horns. Males are larger and solitary, while females live in medium-sized herds with their piglets. During mating season, males will clash against one another and lock tusks in order to take control of a herd of females.
The multi pronged tusks make for a formidable weapon, but they’re not their only one. Their mane is made of hard fur that acts as quills, and can inflict painful punctures. They release a very strong stench, and have glands that secrete a substance capable of inducing nausea in predators.
Meat is edible, but because of said glands, it needs to be cooked thorougly in a special way, else it can turn into a very, very bad meal.
They are omnivorous and their diet range from plants, shrubs, roots and berries, to carrion and even smaller animals. They have a very strong sense of smell.
Their tusks are a prized trophy, and many Varanar have lost their lives trying to successfully hunt a stag-tusk.

There is something similar to Hayao Miyazaki, the pigs in Princess Mononoke. It's always awesome what you do. I dream of drawing as well as you. You have so much talent!
I still hope that one day I will draw well enough to offer you a fan art of twins. But, for the moment, I need to improve myself.

Fun fact, in German there's this insult "Sauhund" which means "sow-dog" and I always thought it's some odd fantasy creature between pig and dog. Then I stumbled upon an article about boar hunt.
Basically, they refered to hounds specialized for boar hunt as "sow-dogs". They used three kinds; One for searching them out (smelling experts), one for making them run in the right direction (running experts), and then one for killing them/biting to death (strong biters, like bulldogs, except back then all dogs didn't look as overbred as today).
But hunting a boar was ALWAYS a very dangerous thing, and most of the time they'd also avoid hunting a healthy adult male as this larger/stronger/more aggressive one almost always meant certain death for everyone trying. Maybe that's why it became "sow dog" because a sow is female.
The reason why "sow-dog" probably became an insult was; They didn't even bother naming their dogs nor getting too emotionally attached to them, because it was common that some dogs were regularly getting killed during boar hunt before the boar was finally killed. Maybe calling someone a sow-dog was a way of saying "I hope you get a most difficult job in life and die because I don't care about you" or something.
I definitely wouldn't want to mess with a boar, male or female. Even though they're some of my fav animals. They're very intelligent, strong, protective, large, fast, can swim, have an extremely good sense of smell, and they eat everything. You don't want that for an enemy.
