Lei's own personal training is quite a bit more intense that what he makes his students go through. He goes into dense forests and goes into a wild fury, cutting down everything around him in a lethal storm of slashes and blows. If you wander into a forest and happen to come across a clearing of trees utterly devastated odds are Lei was training in the area.
Don't worry about deforestation though, Lei uses his magic to speed up to growth of everything he cuts down, so they're back up in a few weeks.
