Cut from Aspen and left unstained and unfinished. I got the pattern from the book "Artistic Wildlife Projects" by Marilyn Carmin.
I know it's not my own drawing (Since I can't exactly draw well... ^^; ) but I wanted to post some of my animal projects here to see if anyone approved.
This piece I actually did for a dear friend of mine, Noriko. ^^ This is one of two sister pieces. I cut the two pieces at the same time then sawed them in half to create two halves exactly the same. Partly I did it so we would both have half of the same piece, but also because I felt the whole was two thick and unfeather like. ^^;

Well thank you Sevalprincess. I'm glad you like it. ^^; First I normally look for a good pretty piece of wood. Color, and grain play a roll, etc. ^^; then I try to put the pattern as close to the edges while still getting the nice grain. Though with Aspen it's not entirely noticable. Anyway, I've babbled enough. ^^; Thank you for the comment and I hope I can continue to please.
Thank you. ^^ Like my other posts I used a scroll saw. I simply have to move the block of wood around by hand to cut along the pattern. ^^; I have to also drill holes to cut the inner spaces, which is only possible with a scroll saw due to it's detachable blade which can be threaded through the drilled holes in the waste pieces of the wood.
