I really have to catch back up with Lauren's work. This is a very interesting development to say the least! It's a gorgeous picture, too, and I love the bittersweet feeling you've captured between the two of them, and the sense of longing. It's almost a shame you don't get commissioned for more emotional art like this because you do so wonderfully well at it.
The background is beautiful, and I love the way the wave bisects the page to put us in both worlds at once. The sunset and star filled sky above and the fish swimming among the seaweed below both make for such lovely and attractive worlds, both begging to be explored, and yet they're so irrevocably separated. Lauren comes up with such fascinating ideas, and you've done an amazing job with bringing this one to life!

This is just unbelievably pretty. I saw this while I was away on holiday which is why it took so look for me to get around to commenting, that and technical difficulties I was having. Still deciding on what if anything I will get from you this month but there are some candidates.
About the picture, I love the way it came out, how it's almost like there is two perfectly separate images melded together. I love the underwater view with all the fish and seaweed and the way they're looking into each other's eyes. The placement of her hand on his chest is just perfect, super romantic. I was listening to some Celine Dion and staring at these for a while, hehe.
While I have some mild ideas for a potential follow up I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself just yet, but we will see!
In any case, this is just such a remarkable image, and so beautifully shows them both off, and I can't say enough how thrilled I am with it.

Split screen type images like this are among my favorites, or anything that shows any kind of symbolism of two opposing forces coming together. There's something especially romantic about crossing all boundaries to be with the one you love. So I knew as soon as I saw the description for this scene in your note I'd really enjoy creating it. :) I didn't have a plan for the sky until the very end, I felt like it needed just a bit more color so I went for the sunset and stars instead of a daytime sky with a few clouds, and I think that's maybe what makes it pop so much. And, art paired up with music is just the best isn't it?
Thanks again for commissioning this, it was a pretty huge hit over on my Facebook page. ^_^

I'm glad it was popular!
While I'm not sure if it exactly matches up with my original thought I knew your interpretation was going to be spectacular regardless of that. I always know when I commission you it'll be well worth the effort. :)
In any event, I was looking forward to seeing it the entire time and I couldn't agree more, after all, romance is about crossing boundaries, wouldn't you say? :) I'm glad the image came together in your mind, I know the sunset really does look gorgeous and you did a fabulous job. ;) Sunset seems an appropriate time of day to part ways. ;) At least for a while.
I couldn't agree more. I definitely stayed up later than I should have staring at it and listening to music, haha.
*hugs* :)
