"...they are not like tremors, they are worse than tremors,
they are these terrors. And it's like, it feels like as if somebody
was gripping my throat and squeezing and..."
I've been having hardcore nightmares for the past week leaving me horrified of the darkness in my room, some of the things I dream about are in the background. Some of them are bizarre but if you had my dream you'd understand :/ When I was listening to my music "Sleep" by My Chemical Romance came on and made me think of this.
"...Sometimes I see flames. And sometimes
I see people that I love dying and... it's always..."
So yeah enjoy my picture and random images!!! BTW, that's a rose behind Nanook...random vicious teeth and an eye crying cause that's how I feel when awaking up...
Nanook belongs to me!!
Quotes belong to My Chemical Romance!
"And I can't... I can't ever wake up..."

Night Terrors?
The scientific name for it is actually "Sleep paralysis".
It's caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. When you go to sleep, your body releases a chemical that paralyses your major muscle groups for A: Faster/Easier repairs, and B: so you don't go acting out your dreams while sleeping. The timing of the chemical release is what is important. Too early, you get sleep paralysis. Too late/not at all, you get Tossing and turning/Sleepwalking.
There are medical treatments available, but you'll have to see a specialist. The onset of it can be reduced by Sleeping on your back only, or by working out the triggers (if it happens before you go to sleep), and making a large movement of an arm just as you feel it happening.
Hope this helps, i've been sufferring from ths for a while. you eventualy learn to control it, explore it.. hell, even use it for some really awesome things like making the most wonderful music in your head, lol -hugs-

Hmm...that's an interesting take on the night tremors theme. I've never experienced that before except once when I was recovering from surgery, had a weird dream about going back to Chicago and ended up standing in the middle of the pool when I woke up. It wasn't exactly the dream that scared the hell out of me, but where I woke up. I blame the meds for that one. : P
Yeah, I notice some changes in your Nanook as well. Personally, I really like this one with the lighter hair, more expressive eyes and overall more interesting design.

Actually, it was. And I was standing so close the deep end. : /
I think for the expression, you could always make her eyes lighter so they're easier to read along with her expression. You could always tilt her head to the side, maybe lift the pupils up so it looks as though she's looking up at that super creepy creature behind her. It almost looks like a TV screen.
Damn, you've been drawing a lot lately. That makes me envious because I just got thrown on an overtime schedule for the rest of the week...again. I might actually have some time off this weekend so sit down and sketch some things. I will be going to the meets, though. : )

Ah...here's a better idea of what I thought might work. Except the eyes would be looking up or back towards whatever she thought was behind her.
