So this will be the last Care Bear pic I get for a little while, probably until late January or so. But it’s a very, very special one to me”, so I am so incredibly thankful that
the.art.of.white.heart was willing to take it on and bring it to life in such an incredible way.
It features Digitz (Cool Heart Bear) being powdered and diapered by Share Bear in the middle and Wish Bear on the right.
Before I talk about the pic and why it’s so special to me, once again I need to compliment White Heart as an artist. He really went above and beyond for me on this pic. When I described it to him, because it was a trickier pic, he sketched out multiple versions for me and allowed me to pick and choose pieces of each one. I ended up loving different details of each version, and all together he was able to combine them together to make the perfect final version. When I go back to an artist again and again, it’s because I feel like they are exceptional, and for me White Heart has definitely shown that.
As far as the pic itself, it’s based on this scene from the Care Bears Movie 2:

Ever since I was five or six years old, I fantasized about being a Care Bear cub and being changed, powdered and diapered in that way. Not only does this movie and scene give me super strong nostalgia, but it’s really a representation of that wonderful feeling of being safe, loved for and cared for.
I think the the for me is...being changed is almost like the extreme fantasy for me as a babyfur. And I think the reason why is....I always think about diaper changing as a nasty chore. I understand that it kind of is that for most parents and people.
However, I think there’s a certain element of parents and caretakers enjoying it. Not that the task itself is enjoyable...but that they get so much joy out of taking care of someone they love.
And that feeling blows me away. The feeling that someone could love you so much that they enjoy changing your diaper...it’s powerful. That feeling that they enjoy putting the powder on you because it feels so good to you, and that they enjoy diapering you because it makes you feel warm and dry...it’s just special. I think about young kids who like the idea of changing their dolls’ diapers because they just like taking care of someone...it’s like you take that feeling and multiply it by a ton to get the same feeling caring adults have.
That’s why that Care Bear scene means so much to me...the two kids really enjoy taking care of the cubs and are so happy about it.
But it’s even nicer to be changed and taken care of by two Care Bears. I chose the two that always seemed particularly warm and caring to me, especially Share Bear. For me, there’s something really special about being taken care of by two nurturing female Care Bears...almost like having two big protective sisters who love taking care of a baby brother.
That’s why the little details are so special to me in this one...the stack of diapers on the side, the cloud powder puff, the cloud changIng table, and especially Digitz’s new diaper. I really like how White Heart made all of those look just like the movie.
I can’t describe how much I love this one and what it means to me. Such a great pic to have right before Christmas.

Hee hee....yep!
What's been so fun about getting art from White Heart is...he's not a babyfur artist, but he's a big Nelvana Care Bears enthusiast (he does art from a lot of other cartoons as well).
But, like me, he really enjoyed the Care Bears Movie 2, and his gallery had a bunch of art he did from that movie. That's what led me to find him and get art from him.
So it's great because he can just take what he knows from that movie and apply to the pics I get from him. So it was pretty natural for him to do things like the background, the diaper stack, and the little powder puff because he had scene it from the movie.
That's why this one is so neat to me...it's right out of that movie instead of just being a usual babyfur pic.

I was searching for Hugs and Tugs pictures, and came across some dumb article griping about the two characters, as if they were the death knell of the franchise. "They have an impressive vocabulary for bears who regularly shit and piss themselves," the writer said. Geez, when it's put like THAT, it sounds ridiculous.
The way I look at it, the cubs have got it pretty good, having fun in Care-a-Lot without the responsibilities of the grown-ups. They're free to be babies without anyone complaining, and they can even use moronic catchphrases like "goody goody gosh" without getting slapped upside the head for it. Wearing a turd pocket is a small price to pay when you're getting unconditional love in a place that for all intents and purposes is heaven. And yes, they're smart for toddlers, but it's a cartoon. They'd be way more insufferable if they acted like real babies.
I don't know. I just wanted to have an excuse to complain about that article in a place where it was vaguely relevant.

Ha ha, I agree with you. Hugs and Tugs have it great and I enjoy them just fine in the series. People will find all kinds of stupid stuff to complain about online. I know there have been other cartoon characters who were fairly smart children but also were in diapers.
I also lol’d at your use of the phrase “turd pocket”. That’s a new one to me!
However, I did always wonder why the creators decided to have them wear diapers when they first created them. It had to go back to special “The Care Bears Battle the Freeze Machine” which is where they first appeared. Why not just make them smaller and be actual child Care Bears without diapers?
My main guess is they just thought it made them cuter to be more like babies, and the diapers were the best way to reflect that. And I really like that idea, personally...I always like diapers being something cute and cuddly and not nasty. That’s why I always really liked the “I Care for You” scene in the second movie. They change the cubs’ diapers, but the used diapers look completely clean. I always joked in my mind that Care Bears poop things like sprinkles and rainbows. :)

I think you've got the right idea about the diapers being an indicator of extreme youth. It's especially helpful when your baby characters don't necessarily act like babies, like Hugs and Tugs (or my own character Byron, cough). American Greetings actually did go the diaper-less route in the last two Care Bears series, which seems to be an unfortunate trend in cartoons lately. Case in point: Rawlf was absent from the Muppet Babies reboot, and I have no doubt that when he DOES make his rumored cameo appearance in the new show, his trademark diaper won't.
I don't have an explanation for the lack of diapers in 21st century cartoons. I suspect the artists want to push kids toward toilet training, or worry that the diapers will encourage fetishes. Maybe the majority of viewers just hate characters in diapers. Whatever may be the case, it's pretty aggravating.
Regarding what you were saying earlier about the Care Bear excretory system, it's hard to say just what comes out of them. A more recent series, Adventures in Care-a-Lot, showed Grumpy Bear's bathroom, which had everything you'd expect a bathroom to have but a toilet. Maybe he's just permanently constipated, which would explain his attitude. Heh.
My personal view is that Care Bears are semi-corporeal, like angels. They may not have the same organs that traditional life forms do, and while they do eat, the waste generated could be minimal, or transferred into energy for the Care Bear Stare. Thing is, the creators of these characters don't think about this stuff nearly as much as their fans do.

Yeah, it's hard to say why they don't have as many characters in diapers that they used to. I think part of it may be that now it doesn't seem to be as nearly as taboo to talk about poop directly in cartoons. So maybe diapers would be more likely to lead to those kind of jokes now. Or maybe it is about potty training. Who knows.
I like your idea about them being corporeal and having their food turn into Stare energy. Of course, that brings us to the question of why they need diapers at all then, other than for fashionable cuteness.
If that's the only reason...then why would they even bother changing the cubs in the second movie? Why would the cubs cry about needing a change?
UNLESS...maybe True Heart and Noble Heart KNEW the cubs wouldn't have messy diapers. SO...maybe their plan all along was to try to build John and Dawn's confidence by coming up with the job of having them change CLEAN diapers, since they had never done it before and maybe changing dirty ones would have been too hard for them and crushed their confidence. Instead, they were able to do it successfully and not be turned off by it, which in turn led them to feeling good about themselves.
I had never thought about that before...IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW.

Ha ha...I agree. I just always thought it was funny that they even included a scene where the cubs get their diapers changed.
I mean, I guess you could technically argue they were really just bathing them. But John does put the old diaper into a diaper pail.
My thought was always that they wanted to include that scene because most of the kids who liked the Care Bears back then were girls, and they probably liked the idea of taking care of babies, so the thought of changing Care Bear cubs' diapers and feeding them bottles was probably something they liked.
So I guess they probably thought they could get away with the idea of just implying that the diapers were used since all of the kids and parents pretty much knew that anyway. Still, I've always found the whole thing to be both interesting and funny.
It's also why I enjoy it so much. I myself don't like the idea of wetting/messing diapers, I like them to be completely clean and cute. So that's one reason why the scene was always special to me.

gotta admit, it's a cute scene.
speaking of the cubs and cousin cubs, they did release plushes of a few of them. I remember seeing an ad for them on youtube (dunno if it's still there) and the one noticeable thing about those plushes is the fact none of them have any diapers on. I found that pretty weird
