"C'mon, Seriously?...." It was an insult that cut deep, deeper than fighting off hungry, pig ugly hoards, greedy coalitions and vindictive sociopaths who owned a personal militia in their own backyard, ya know, the thing that became the norm for her after arriving on this "blessed" island.
"Fix. This."
Just WHO did they think they were talking to with that tone!?, Were those weeks spent in a blast furnace, oiling, tinkering, supply gathering, tempering, FORGING this accursed sword and sheath WHILE DEFENDING HER OWN LIFE AND LIVELY HOOD, not enough for this coward whose life she indirectly saved dozens of times!? Were was the gratitude, the understanding? Hell just the smallest bit of name renegotiation rather than be called "Blacksmith" all the time!
"On second thought, maybe I'll go and..." It was a follow up that nearly made her bend the sword in two with how much her arms shook. "Metal jags be damned, if I could just get one good hit along this ungrateful jerks STUPID mug!" She thought- but, with a reluctant sigh, she would catch and stop herself. "Gimme about a week, I'll have it to you by then."
It wasn't the lost time spent or the potential lost of profit that made her so angry, at least not any more, nor was it the lack of her notoriety even after all this time helping the islanders or strike against her pride as a black smith.
"Who even WANTS a hilt this heavy for their rapier? Jackass..."
It was the realization that no matter what she did for others outside her circle, not one of it was good enough. No one looked at her works in awe or gratitude, no one saw her heroics as something to be celebrated, she was just another small shop owner with some abnormal security guards, fighting for customers and turf like everyone else in the outskirts, but with "bland" looking wares compared to the competition.
And then, IT happened...
"Oui, What the hell!?"
Now most who would hear this thunderous, earth shattering like boom inside their shop, would assume it to be a "sign from god" and tread carefully or something to stay clear of given the intensity of the sound. Molly? Molly grabbed the nearest sledge hammer she could from her anvil and rushed towards the source, eager to smack down this "sign" who was more than likely just another would be thief trying to steal from her treasury again, or at the very least someone who needed to know the consequences of trespassing and causing damage to her shop like that.
Kicking in the door to her treasury, she would indeed find an intruder there but not at all one who she was expecting. Bleeding, crying, dirty, trembling and speaking with a rasp in their voice that implied a fatigued and starved set of lungs, if they weren't the picture perfect definition of "helpless" what was? "Aye, easy there...." Cautious at first, Molly would soon put her weapon down upon realizing the woman wasn't "faking it", and would freak out at even the slightest and gentlest of approaches. It was only though a mix of calming words, a strange pause they preformed upon seeing she only had one eye and through the use of some nearby sleeping powder, that Molly was able to sedate the intruder and lead her downstairs to truly provide her the help she needed.
Cut to a week later and Molly, through the use of both her own means and help by some friends, was able to nurse the foreign buffalo back to full health, even going so far as making them a new set of hand crafted clothes for whenever they were fully healed and capable of walking again. Some would've considered this a bit out of character for the cyclops, but to them she could only retort about how a cynical outlook wasn't the same as being unfeeling or heartless.
Upon awakening, "Mimel", revealed herself to be a dimensional traveler, intelligent but with such a cursory understanding of basic concepts as to be considered primitive or stone aged by Mollies standards, not only did she show surprise as to what metal was and how it could be made, but constantly referred to even the most basic of machinery as "magical". Yet, rather than focus on how advanced Mollies civilization was compared to her own or shudder upon recollecting her ordeals that brought her there in the first place, Mimel's focus constantly channeled itself towards Mollies single purple eye, revealing to Molly that it was the eyes beauty that caused her to pause upon their first meeting and pause several times over during their first few meetings together. It was a comment that made Molly blush and grow bashful in front of the stranger, it was the first genuine, sincere compliment she had ever received for her appearance since...EVER!
Eventually fully healed and capable of leaving again, Molly showed Mimel the door, believing she could do little more for her now, only to instead receive a bow and talk of "Allow me to repay you for your kindness". It was a phrase that made her want to roll her eye at first with how cliche it sounded, but hey, if someone wanted to work for what they had, she could relate to that, right? And offered her a job cleaning around the forge at first, before teaching her more about the new world she was in and eventually armor, jewel and weaponsmithing, something Mimel was VERY eager to learn about as it allowed her to be side by side with the "Kind, Lovely, Molly" throughout her study.
The week of "Paying back Molly" soon turned into month, and then a year, multiple years of the two growing closer and closer to one another, so close in fact that Mimel believed Molly loved her much as she did her, and went about forging the cyclops a ring to signify their union together. Yet even after seeing Mimel as a friend and the greatest student and colleague she could ever ask for, admiring the culmination of the buffalos studies in the shape of this radiant, flawless ring they had made for her, Molly could only respond with the following...
"I-It's not that I don't like you, not even as a friend, you're a CLOSE friend, a damned CLOSE, VERY CLOSE friend its just I-I'm...not into girls-..."
Upon hearing those words, Mimel's mind went blank. The magic that kept her stone curse at bay within her lone arm had vanished in her sadness, forcing Mimel to leave not only out of rejection but out of safety for her own unrequited love.
WHY DID SHE SAY THAT!? WHY of ALL times couldn't she just lie, what sex life did she have to tot about!?, Here was a woman-a PERSON, someone who loved them, cared for them, saw them as partner, a teacher, a person deserving of respect and appreciation for all the good they do and she thanked them by kicking them out!?, All because of what dangled between their legs!?
"Ya didn't have to FUCK her, you could've just, I Just- we..."
But it was all the same right? just another good thing in her life stripped away from her because of a stupid mistake, a slip up of the tongue that she, like many things in her life, was never going to be able to rectify again.
"No..."
After a few days of self loathing and losing herself in her work. Molly recalled the stone curse Mimel was afflicted by, a curse that threatened to turn her student to stone whole and permanently if they ever allowed themselves to lose control over it, a curse that could've threaten Molly just as easily if she were close enough during the petrification.
"She left because of that stupid curse, because she was worried FOR me!"
It was this realization that caused Molly to shift her focus from hating herself, to studying what she could about the curse that afflicted Mimels body, both in the hopes of curing her and seeking her forgiveness. Working day and night between her usual routine, Molly ignored her minds attempts to pass off her actions as being "desperate" or incapable of accepting the fact that Mimel wasn't ever coming back, utterly determined that one day the two could work again in her forge once more, not as teacher and student but as equal partners.
Months passed without word or any sign of Mimels appearance and just as Molly was about to give in to her despairing thoughts, she had realized something. Regardless of her efforts, for several months on end she had worked towards a seemingly impossible goal, a goal based around someone she knew logically was never going to care for her again if they'd gone this long without sending any signs of their well being, she had worked for someone who by now would've forgotten her or turned to stone if the curse had spread as fast as it did to them in the past. Yet she didn't work obsessively towards this goal to the point it affected her well being or consumed her life as a whole, she wasn't "desperate". Molly realized that all this time she was just being overly hopeful, hopeful to once again spend time with the close friend she had made in Mimel. The once cynical cyclops had realized she'd become optimistic, All thanks to Mimels help...
After few more days had passed, a thunderous boom once more echoed across Mollies treasury. Quickly rushing onto the scene, Molly's eye widened as she kicked open the treasury door and was finally reunited with the sight of Mimel, who was both fatigued yet giddy about telling Molly that she was finally cured of her curse, albeit now stuck with two stone arms permanently rather than just one. With a flood of emotions bubbling inside her, Molly quickly proceeded to hug and nearly crack the buafflo's spine in two due to the sheer strength behind it. Scolding their lack of updates but grateful for their return, Molly welcomed her fellow companion inside as the two caught up on the others adventures.
After the two caught up, it wasn't even a question in Mollies mind. Here stood the person who had changed her life the most in her time on Naissance and elsewhere. Same sex or no, she was the person Molly wanted to spend the rest of her life with, now and until the end of her days.
Soon, after a month of wedding planning, getting approval from the the others families, gathering friends, colleagues and defense set ups against any would be intruders who still had a bone to pick with Molly. The two would complete their vows and leave their wedding day as "husband" and wife.
Finally, Mimel was no longer alone in a cold, uncaring and cruel world and Molly was no longer the icy hearted fighter she once was prior. The two were now together forever, full of hope and ready to to take on the world with a stylish set of hammers ready to smash through whatever obstacle came their way!~.
So yeah, THAT'S quite the bomb to drop on you people after not seeing Molly for a while, ain't it? lol
This was actually done a few months back, I only just now got around to uploading this after realizing I had inadvertly redesigned/revamped all the other members of "Ironfury" and wanted to save their leader/boss for last since it made the most sense.
Long story short, me and my friend
Chu-Toy did a few fun scenarios with these two and figured why not pair the two up with how much good chemistry they had? (Surprising to what ya might think, I wasn't against pairing Molly up in general, its just that most people who liked her were rather uncaring about her actual history, personality and things that made her unique outside of being a "hot looking gal" or a one note grumpy caricature -3-;...but that's a whole nother story.).
I also promised them I'd do a story regarding Mollies perspective upon their first meeting all the way to their big day hence the LONG, badly written story up above done by yours truly, but if you'd like to see Mimel's perspective, here's the link to that http://www.furaffinity.net/view/29508332/ .
If you have any questions, place them down below and enjoy!~. Also yes, this is in fact all CANON
P.S If your wondering about why the word "husband" is in quotation marks well...lets just say that after curing herself, Mimel, like the true dork she was, decided to get a magical add on along her body in hopes of being "male enough" for her new wife. I could go on about both of their reactions upon first seeing "it" buuuut I'll save it for a more mature themed picture description : P.
EDIT/P.S.S GOOD GOD LOOK AT THAT TEXT, I didn't intend for the story to originally be so long I swear :'u!!!!
