Oh, Canada.... :)
May I tell you a story?
While biking in the Gatineau Park in September this year (at a point when as I nearing the final pages of "All Roads Lead to Winter"), I passed a lovely lady who was looking at a posted map of the region, and I said to myself, "Mark, don't be an idiot: go back and say hello to her." I did. As a consequence, we are now together in a blossoming relationship, and I am happier these days than I have been in 13 years.
But when I paid my first visit to her fancy house, and made the comment that a place that large must be hard to maintain, she glanced at the driveway, then turned to me and said, "Especially in winter. But how do you feel about shovelling...?"

Oh! That's so wonderful!! I remember you telling me that the book of love in your lifetime had been closed and that you wouldn't pursue another relationship again, but hearing now that you're involved in something so grand and happy truly pleases me beyond words.
And a big house too, you say? Now you've got me jealous ;D
(except for that snow shoveling part!)

She has told me that from the very first words I spoke to her, she was fascinated... and that when we parted on that day, she knew that she would have to see me again -- and soon.
For my part, I could never have asked for a warmer, funnier, sexier, more loving and more thoughtful woman. To put it mildly, I can't believe my luck.
>>And a big house too, you say?
The house is actually quite modest, when you consider the background of her family: she's the daughter of a Canadian senator... something I did not know on the first three dates.
>>except for that snow shoveling part!
She has a huge, heavy snowblower: I'll be using that. :)
