One of the giveaways (and big reveals) during a livestream I held yesterday is a bit of a new passion project - 3D Perler Bead Godzilla heads!
The first two pics are of the prototypes (not part of the giveaway). The black one is the initial concept, straight from the grid paper sketches; the other was slightly updated, while also being an "exaggerated shading" concept that...well, personally didn't come out too hot. But hey, it at least proved the updated patterns were working. Speaking of...
The finalized concepts, or "retail models", if you will, are the third and fourth pics. Obviously, the gray one is standard, and the other is glow in the dark! (I call it the "Atomic Glow" version). And the real cool thing about them? Not a single drop of glue. It's all like a snap-together kit. It's really amazing to know what you can do with Perler beads.
And it goes without saying, there WILL be more of these. I personally know a lot of people who would go nuts for something like this, so I'd be silly not to make more. Hopefully I don't end up angering any other local Perler bead artists trying to keep stocked up on beads. :p
Definitely keep an eye out for me when convention season starts next year, and/or keep a close watch on my Storenvy for these in the near future. :)
