This is fourth reference I made for Hellfarch, though it is now out of date. The latest reference can be found here.
After two and a half years, I feel that I have improved enough as a 3D artist to update Hellfarch's ref sheet again! Compared to the previous reference, his body is now a darker purple, his scales and musculature are more detailed, he has stylish short shorts instead of an awkward kilt, his tail is much longer, his eyes, horns and claws are more detailed, his goatee now covers more of his chin and has a ring on it, and his harness straps are wider, all on top of a myriad of technical improvements to both his model and his rig. I also dropped his old "The Pursuer" title, as that referred to an early aspect of his character that I ended up dropping a while back and it no longer makes sense now. Also it was apparently really hard to spell because I friggen misspelled it on half of my old ref sheets. I am very happy with how he looks right now, but I can only hope that in another few years, I will improve on him even more!
There is also an art reference with orthographic views, height/length references and closeups of certain details.

I will admit, I do miss how Hellfarch’s bio used to go into more detail about his failed attempts at conquest. Especially how it mocked the fact that the powers of love and friendship are frequently used as “get out of jail free cards” by writers when they can’t think of a more clever way for the heroes to win (with the last failure before Hellfarch’s escape also mocking direct to video movies).
I'm sorry I had to cut that all out, but I didn't want the bio to drag on for even longer than it already does. I'm glad you liked those jokes though! As far as I'm concerned that all still happened. I'm glad you caught onto the direct-to-video parody as well! I might write a longer piece covering Hellfarc's backstory someday so I can go into more detail about it, and I would definitely put those jokes back in if I ever get around to it.
I have to say it. This backstory gives me Megamind vibes, but doesn't fit it at all. He is like the dungeon master of his own reality, where he will control every slave that loses his game, but gives them the chance to escape to make things more interesting. I am perplexed and don't know what to think about it, and I love that. He is kind of a villain, but secretly, he just wants to have fun without hurting anyone.
Great modelling as well!
