
Made this as an experiment for the 77th annual Raleigh Gourd Festival. It did well and won a first place ribbon, woo! ;D
Made of an apple gourd, cube cuts of wood and gourd, epoxy paste, real quartz chips, and ICE resin. Painted with acrylics. It sparkles like a real geode thanks to the quartz pieces! I made a huge mess making this. :P This one is for sale in my Etsy shop:

likewise, really great work with that gourd. :)
reminds me of those chemical experiment boxes where you could grow crystals from chemical solvents and stuff. but they got discontinued, some chemicals were fairly poisonous... painting them instead sounds like a better solution. :)
