So, someone told me that mt cats' designs were all too similar to each other and that made things confusing. It's actually a very good point, since main characters should be immediately recognizable in a comic, and that made me think about changing my characters a bit. Shadi is already quite "unique" with her bright blue eyes, and by making her fur color a bit darker she'd stand out even better, but her friend Nasir is a bit more of a problem. His design was the laziest and more generic caracal design ever, so I decided to change his appearance a bit. Now he has more visible markings, different clothes and longer "hair".
Anyways, I hope you like his new design, I find him way cuter now! Any feedback on this matter is more than welcome! ^^
(also, I'll probably have to remake the comic cover at this point. Welp!)

While it's semi-true that needing to stand out is important for character recognition in media, I do worry about people's constant desire to have EVERYONE stand out. That's something that you can see when it comes to character designs for random 'commissions' and such. It's easy to tell when it's a character commission usually because the character has strange artistic choices of color that are there for uniqueness.
Setting aside color, I do think that it's fun to make a character unique by way of accessories/fashion. Though within that category, moderation is still important. My views are simply a matter of perspective though. Culture/philosophy or whatever. I don't see a reason, in real life, to TRY to stand out or force uniqueness, especially when we're all quite unique without body modification or taking things to extremes.
Art-specific, is this fellow well off? The quality of his clothing for the period feels a little higher end. I don't know too much about such things though, but there's a vibe of opulence. :3

I agree, I also find the way many characters look, wity absurd markings, painful to look at colors and weird body parts or accessories. At the same time I feel a reader should be able to recognize the characters without being confused every page. I'd say a middle ground is the best option for me! ^^
He lives better than many others of his race, let's say. He's a merchant, and also a fence who deals in stolen goods (Shadi is his best client). As far as the clothes go, the Ajshar generally love ornated clothing, so even poor people can often be seen wearing brightly colored garments.

You did a great job! He looks beautiful and recognizable. But I don't remember him earlier as well as his previous appearance) I missed him. Wish you luck with redrawing the cover!
When you'll have free time, will you reply to other previous comments about the portait of king and Gryphon the lion, and Khajit commissions? I wrote some important things I want to share. I have so much to say. I'm still waiting for a moment to talk to you continiously. I think that other users are also waiting for replies.

Thank you so much! ^^ His first design was extremely generic.
I know, but it's getting really hard to answer to people's comments. I have more than 1000 watchers here and 4000 more on Deviantart, so anwering everybody's comments is getting harder and harder. Sometimes I'm simply forced to skip all the comments on a drawing, or I wouldn't have enough free time to draw.
