So, I really wanted to get an art summary for this year out because this year was a really big deal in terms of art for me.
I was really, really depressed last year and it reflected in how little I made the entirety of it. I had absolutely no motivation to make anything whatsoever, and when I did, I was very unhappy with what I had made. My art felt like it had stagnated.
To try and beat off my depression, I decided to take some advice I had seen being tossed around by a lot of artists that I look up to online, which was: draw. every. day.

I started this year with the goal to try and draw something, every day, to the best of my ability and not care if it was a finished product or not. Anything counted, even a tiny head sketch.
And I have had the most productive year I’ve probably ever had since I left school. I got more commissions in the last 5 months then I have in about 2 years. I set out with this goal to try my best, despite what life or what my mental health threw at me, and to remember how much joy creating gives me. I embraced drawing badly and jumping into things despite being afraid sometimes.

So, yeah, I’ve got high hopes (or at least reasonable) for 2019 and I’m hoping to all hek that I can do my best and carry this productivity into the next year. Thank you so, so, so much for the support this year. I’ve had so many kind people reach out to me over this year, and strengthened friendships that I cherish very much. I love you all!! And here’s to a new year of new stuff!
