Five years later, minor corrections, compositional fixes, I am happy enough to call this a completed painting.

-'It cannot be!'
Dharian's eyelids flickered time and time again as he tried to come to terms with this new reality he had not expected possible.
-'I was there.. I saw you fall...I saw your body being torn apart, and you told me not to.. fight... It killed me! You said so. This cannot be, my love...'
Dharian dropped on his knees and then looked up once more in disbelief.
-'Yet, here are you...'
Aerhan, standing there, in front of his own shared blood simply nodded while his eternal partner kept on repeating this simple phrase, much to himself.
-'It cannot be...'
-'I am sorry.'
Dharian's knees weakened, but somehow, he mustered the strength required to stand up once more. A shiver ran down his spine, a million dagger stabs, all over him, in anticipation and wishful thinking alike.
-'Are you back?'
The White Lion nodded softly.
Every single molecule of his body refused to accept it, but somehow, deep inside, he knew, that it had to be true. And upon his betrothed responding, he quite simply understood that said particular truth was true.
Yet, he could not not believe it, not as such. And thus, being lost for words, he uttered a single thing, a question he could not do without.
-'Is it you?'
The White Lion nodded once more.
-'I am here, my love.'
His paws reached and trembling, touched the cheek of the White Lion.
-'Well then, you owe me your oath.'
-' My oath has always been yours.'
-'What better place than this one, to repeat it?'
Few are the moments in a lifetime when a feeling so intense causes one to lose their breath. Which is exactly what happened to Dharian. But he would not have it otherwise. No.
-'Under this moon, your oath.'
-'Under this moon, my oath.'
-'For an eternity?'
-'For all time, again.'
