A Visit from the Kallikantzaros

Marshall woke up on Christmas Day feeling very unhappy. He had a nightmare about getting nothing for Christmas. Big Cubs would not let him participate in a multiplayer game of "Natti Tsuri (Nutty Tree)" on the Kaigamer Amber. He did not get a single chocolate from a box of sixteen chocolates given to all sixteen other cubs. He had no dance partner at a party.
The trouble began after he had been naughty on Christmas Eve. He had been very greedy and eaten all the Chocolate Christmas log, and didn't leave his mother Laura Foxstone a piece. Then he opened his Christmas Presents early and Laura took away the new Kilo Fox action figure he got and hid it away. He didn't give his mother a helping hand with hanging the Christmas decorations and he drank the milk and ate the cookies she had left on the table for Santa Fox.
Laura was so disappointed in Marshall and her feelings hurt, that she sent him to bed early, telling him that he would get nothing for Christmas and there wouldn't be any party or presents. Marshall got cross, stomped on the floor and wet and messed his diaper on purpose. After Laura had a hard time changing him she, carried Marshall to his bed and told him he had been very bad and that this was the worst Christmas they had ever had. Marshall pouted, grumbled and paced around until he fell asleep on the carpet.
But today Marshall was ashamed of how he'd behaved and was ready to apologise to his mother. He got dressed in his blue cap and red sweater and went off to find his mom. He found her in the lounge sitting by the Christmas tree watching the lights glow. Sure enough there no presents under the tree or any treats in Marshall's stocking.
"M-M-Morning Mom" Marshall said. "Have you decided to be a better cub or are still being a bad one?" Laura asked suspiciously and still emotionally hurt. "I...was a bad boy...Mommy!" Marshall uttered and then tears began to drip from his eyes and he approached his mother and gave her a hug.
"I'm sorry mommy!" Marshall sobbed "I never meant to make you feel that way. I should have shared the chocolate log with you and did as I was told!". Laura tried to smile as she returned the hug to her son and told him "Apology accepted. Are you ready to be helpful and good today?". Marshall nodded. "I'll just change your diaper, then...".
Laura was cut off as a loud smacking sound came from the fireplace. Marshall was expecting Santa Fox, but the strange visitor who emerged did not look anything like him. It was a green goblin with furry legs and tail and wearing a disposable diaper. The Foxstones had never seen anything like it and weren't sure how to react.
"Merry Christmas little fox" greeted the creature "I heard you've been a bad boy this Christmas". "Are you one of Santa Fox's helpers?" Marshall asked. "Hardly no!" squeaked the creature "I'm Jinglejacks, I'm a Kallikantzaros". "Kalli what?" Laura asked unsure what she heard. "Yeah! Furries always get our species name wrong" the creature said "Technically I'm a Christmas goblin. My kind spreads chaos in Christmas".
"Don't even think about it!" Laura scolded the visitor "We've had a bad Christmas Eve and we don't want our Christmas Day spoiled". "That's why I'm here" Jinglejacks replied "I've come to reward Marshall for being bad on this occasion. Do you know what bad cubs get for Christmas?". "Lumps of coal?" Marshall asked. "Nope, coals bad for the environment" said the Christmas Goblin "Bad cubs get something far worse than this".
By magic Jinglejacks took a large black rubbish sack from behind his back. Marshall was expecting to find garbage in the sack, but instead the goblin took out a package of disposable diapers with a gift ribbon around it and handed it to Marshall. "For me?" the little fox asked. "And just your size" Jinglejacks added. "Thank you Jinglejacks" Marshall said happily.
"Your...welcome I guess" replied Jinglejacks in surprise "Most cubs get upset whenever I give em' diapers. And since you've been extra bad yesterday and you're still on the naughty list, I'm going to punish you even more". And so the little Christmas goblin went back to the rubbish sack and deposited several packages of diapers with gift ribbons until they absolutely covered the sofa.
"Amazing" Laura said in surprise "He just made all those diapers appear out of thin air". She was completely baffled but she approached Jinglejacks, picked him up and hugged him. "You're so sweet" she told him "You've given me and my boy the best Christmas present ever. With our diaper supply stocked, now we can save some money for some holiday treats".
"I'm...glad you're happy" squeaked Jinglejacks blushing. It was not generally within a Kallikantzaros' nature to do nice things for furries, but hugs and praise felt better than being yelled at and shooed away. At least these two foxes would think kindly of him and what a tale he'd have to tell at the North Pole.
"Try to be good next year" Jinglejacks told Marshall "And you might get a Kaigamer Amber console of your very own, otherwise I'll have to get you much thicker diapers. Gotta go now. Happy Christmas and a merry new year to you!". And the Christmas goblin patted his diaper and jumped up the chimney vanishing back to where he came from.
"I'm glad we've got enough diapers, bound to last till next Christmas" Laura said to Marshall "But don't think that's any excuse to be bad. Mommy loves you lots when you're a good fox". And she picked up her adorable boy and gave him another hug. The two foxes smiled at each other. This was turning out to be the best Christmas they had ever had. "Now lets make another Christmas log together" said Laura opening a drawer and retrieving Marshall's action figure "And don't forget to share it with me".
