A little tribute and memory of my friend Robert Hill who passed away recently.
Robert loved the Three Stooges and ended up being hired to be Moe at a Stooges convention in Burbank, 1998, being run by Comedy 3 (which is a company made up of all the Stooges relatives.)
They had tours of surviving filming locations, a room set up for pie fights with the 'Stooges', rare memoribilia on display and of course classic shorts being run on a big screen.
Here you see the boys doing a bit with a local TV personality. The guy playing Curly (David Knight) was really good and Robert made a convincing Moe.
The main lawyer for Comedy 3 was Bela Lugosi Jr who looked a lot like his dad.
During the opening ceremony they had some comedy from Jonathan Winters, Chuck Mccann, and Jack Riley.
But the oddest thing was when I passed a guy wearing what looked like a beekeepers mask with a bunch of kids with him attending the con.
Robert asked if I had seen him and explained that he was a Stooge fan who'd been introduced to everyone running the con earlier.
It was Michael Jackson.
