The GTX 980Ti is the much better card
Pro GTX 980Ti:
- more VRAM (6GB instead of effectively 4GB [2x4GB])
- no CF Problems (fast in every game, not just the CF optimized ones)
- lower power demand (250W vs 560W [you need at least a good 750W powersupply)
- better driver policy (nvidia supports their cards very long, AMD dumps their cards earlier)
- GSync
- PhysX (nice for some older Games like Batman)
Pro R9 295 X2:
- faster if CF is well supported and if the the game insn't limited by the VRAM
- Free Sync (nice if you got the right monitor
