2018 Summary of Art and LIfe
My my, what a busy year for me.
Lets see what has happened in my life this last year.
January
Started the year with a drawing of Marina, the EFNW mascot I helped design. I also had just finished watching Land of the Lustress, so I ended up drawing Pho. Watched AQGQ, where one of my friends did a run in! Found out I was not accepted as a vendor for EFNW for the first time. Very upset as its my home state and the trip makes it where I can afford to visit my parents and such. :c
February
Living in Delaware at this time still. Eagles won the super bowl, lots of partying around my house. I got super salty about how people cut the lemons at work. (wedges people, not slices!) Drew a diagram and posted it where everyone could see it. >.>; Started to work on the Fantasy Themed deck for Mares. Discovered the magic of Yoga pants....I get it now, they are so comfy. I no longer judged.
March
Had really bad depressive episode this month. Also my back decided to be nothing but pain! Not much other than working on art and working my job.
April
A few of my lights on my drawing tablets screen have started to go out (and still do to this day! they flicker on and off.) I was dumb and did 20 new charms in 4 days. My bad knee (the right one) was acting up real bad.
May
Went to the DR, being sent to physical therapy for my knee! Got promoted to a Shift Lead at work. Dyed my hair a maroon color. Worked on 4 badges for High Roller Pony Con. Got to go to Las Vegas for the first time! Was there for 2 hours and than my wallet was stolen! :D YAAAAAAAAAAAAY
June
Starting the month in Vegas still for HRPC! Ate SO much good food. Saw and met Penn and Teller. Got my favorite hat ever, which I wear at every con now. Started the next deck of Mares, video game edition.
July
Started Physical Therapy for my knee. The BF Vincent went out to Utah for a job interview. Lots of nerves. My birthdya sucked ass. I kinda hve given up on having a good one. Headed off to vend at Bronycon! Was the best freakin con ever. On friday while vending, Vincent got the call about the job interview. He had to had hide behind my print wall while talking. HE GOT THE JOB! SOld out of two sets of my Mares prints which completly took me by surprise! Sold out of all the decks too. ; w ; Then sunday, I spoiled him rotton as it his birthday. Surprised him with a bunch of stuff and dinner with friends. He said its the best birthday he has ever had. Felt very proud of that moment.
August
Worked my last day at my Barista job. Loved that place but also hated it a bunch. Packed up Vincent and I's lives into a uhaul, we are moving away from two roomates and wonderful amazing friends. Had a 10ft uhaul, towing a '95 corvette behind us, with two cats in the cabin with us...they were not in a crate as they were way more comfortable being free to move around and to cuddle up with us during the drive. I do not have a license so Vincent had to do all the driving, but we drove from Delaware to Kansas to stay with a friend. Made that trip in one go, and stayed there for two days. Then went from Kansas to Utah in one trip as well. We did not have an apt or anything lined up when we started to move. So while driving there I was calling apts and getting contratcs signed for us. We got to utah at 3am, slept in the car till 9am, went to the apts I had called, signed all the paper work and moved into our new place that day. Took a total of 4 days for us to move 2,300 miles. :D
September
Commissions opened. Con Drama. Insurane Drama. Bowsette happened and I fell in love. Was applying for a day job. Got interviewed at Big lots. Just a lot of settling in. Vincent was working the whole time, and I was getting and keeping the apartment clean.
October
Hired at Big lots! I luckily got a manager who understands I need to have time off for conventions and is willing to work with me! Binged The Dragon Prince, fell in love, can't wait for season 2. Started to work on a bunch of Badges again. (I seriously LOVE doing badges.) Started to have a lot of depression when it was coming to my art. Feeling burnt out and unhappy. Went and Vended at PonyVille Ciderfest. Had a blast! Didn't sleep much, but I wsa letting myself overwork but also have a ton a fun that trip. I had a stranger buy me a drink for the first time ever. =3=b Very flattering. <3
November
Cut my hair short again! :D Felt so much better about myself. Bought a tiny white christmas tree with a top hat for the topper! C: Work started to get crazy cause of the holidays. Started to cause issues with me getting any commission work done. :c Got suprise package from my grandmother. Had an advent calander my mother made when she was in her mid 20's. I cried. It was one of the best presents ever.
December
Closed out commissions. Holiday rush. GOT SUPER DUPER SICK AND I STILL AM....sorta. Getting over it slowly. Been snowing off and on here. Had a bunch of my copics dry up and cause even more delay on getting badge commissions done as I had to order them and wait. and now I am waiting for the new year to start!
