Omorphia has always been interested in new technology, going down and speaking with the engineers when she was younger and getting involved with their tinkering. She wasn't exactly good at making things, mind you, but she wanted to help if she could.

When they first proposed a flying mechanism to mirror the abilities of winged Argaiths(the scalies of Affinifur) she knew that they would need someone from the royal family, someone with the ability to make their wings appear and disappear, in order to test it. No one else would be able to give accurate information on the equipment for how natural it would feel. No one else would be able to test it more safely as, if the equipment failed, they could make their wings appear and catch themselves.

So naturally she volunteered.

And thanks to her efforts the Flying Apparatus was completed.

This is her wearing one of the first working models. She's 13-14 in this image. This model doesn't use any magic and works solely through the smaller mechanisms within the backpack and the artificial wings itself. The battery packs can last up to one and a half hours if the wings are used with casual flight and twenty minutes if used in battle. Due to its inability to sustain prolonged and rigorous flight it was later scrapped for a new design.
