When "Numbers" got roped into watching Raechel, at first it was just idle observation because he didn't quite follow just how much he might have to protect the fawn. That was brought to a pretty rapid halt on his second or third night watching her, wherein he became increasingly aware of other factors in the area that could taint her life and make things uncomfortable.
They have many names. The monster under the bed, shadow monsters, night terrors. Small, hard to notice things that get their kicks by terrorising the sleeping young. The source of things from gremlin-esque minor discomforts while sleeping, to sit-up-screaming nightmares, with their favoured prey being the young and unprotected. And, well, being a guardian gives someone a lot of leeway in what constitutes a threat.
"Numbers" isn't going to stand for that at all. His doe is going to have sweet dreams, hell-damnit.
