You ever get that strange feeling in the back of your head?

It's like a nerve fire, or frozen tangle of thoughts you can't quite put into words and you can't quite express.

You want to make sense of it, want to put it into motion but your fingers feel numb to the input of your command.

It's hard to set aside my usual expectations like this. Hard to set down the pen or pencil and rub my eyes, take a deep breath, and admit sometimes I need to give it a rest just this once.

I feel tired. My heads hurts. There's a fog in my mind, and maybe it's telling me to be kind...

..When I feel this way, I give one final whisper of what's still there before I lay my head down. I don't need to be mad at myself for not feeling it today. I know I'll get there again. Just need...need to remember that.

Here's to all you cool kittens with an art block. Have some tea, and put something warm or cool on your head. You've earned yourself a moment to take a deep breath.
