2018 Summary of Art
Here we are in a new year! 2018 was a return to Traditional media for me. I worried I wouldn't be able to fill the chart, but it turns out I was more productive than I remembered!
I dabbled a lot in grays this year, previous Inktobers have given me a taste for the simplicity of ink.
I had some decent steps towards my art goals this year too! I did live painting for The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, I have several patrons on Patreon, acquired a mentor, executed several paintings using the lessons in lighting I studied. I also started making patterns, which seems to be a natural fit for my interests and style. I sold a painting in a gallery! I also got accepted for my first major solo show which takes place in May 2019 in the Town Hall of Amherst which was very competitive. And last, I also had several posts go mildly viral :D
I have some more art happiness to share too, once I'm given official clearance later this year =) I hope this year I can keep refining my voice and getting pieces that are a bit more personal.
I was worried that having fibromyalgia and being a parent would stop me from hitting goals, but it turns out when I take time out for self-care I have more spoons for drawing. This year was about exercising work/life balance and I think I did alright considering.
