My Magic Grandpa: Pilot - Page 2
I was honestly one of the lax oddballs in school, Suzie's about the exact opposite of me when it comes to her school skills. It wasn't that I didn't try to get good grades, but my mental condition made homework so difficult that I needed extra special ed classes just for doing homework.
Anyway, the teacher here is a character I made for a good friend of mine,
I made him a weird fun combo of 3 of my teachers from highschool.

Haha oh trust me I used the Allegory for a reason XD I was lucky and got to learn it in my middleschool, but that was because we had way more advanced literature than most schools and I went in to AP lit in Highschool which was college level stuff. Meanwhile that 1984 poster XD
Honestly, the writing in this (only second) page is top freakin notch! I love having her dialog with the teacher's over it. Shows her only kinda paying attention as she pretends to write notes and fleshes out both that he's super passionate, but also how she feels about the world and interprets him to be mean/overworking! It just did a lot in a small space and did it really well! I am V excited for more!
Yay! As a pilot, my main goal was to show what kind of people are typically in her life, and what her attitude towards others and herself is. Most protagonists complain about an ordinary life, while she complains that she's the only one who's ordinary as if being ordinary was better. She's arrogant and pretentious in that sense, and definitely closes herself off to the bigger picture because of it.
